Too Dang Hot

The internet says it feels like 37C.
I don't know what that is in F.

But, I know that -40C and -40F are the same.
The only point where C and F meet is at -40 degrees.

Hottest on record, here, for this time of year.

I'm hoping it cools down a bit by the end of the month.

The next game at the stadium is the end of the month.
O-town's playing E-town.

Last game, O-town won.

I got there just as the game was ending.

Just my luck.
Finding a ticket to go to the game
and not getting to go!

I can watch it from the hill, though.

The hill's just on the other side of the fence from the stadium.
I can watch it from there.

I miss when the exhibition was there.
My step-father worked at the arcade.

We stored the prizes for the claw machines
in our basement when I still lived at home.

Anyway, we'd go there and play whatever games we wanted.
Technically for free.

They'd give us a bunch of quarters to use.
They were going to get them back anyway.

Even though they could have made more money...

It was cool like that.

The machines where you had to try to push the money
off the edge of the ledge... That was a cool one.

I saw a video about how a laundomat owner had one
at the laundromat and someone broke it
to get the money out of it.

I think the story went that when he replaced it,
it happened again.

Imagine having to have a security guard at a laundromat?
I have to go to one, soon.

It's not that far away.
I'd like to check out the one that has a coffee shop in it.
I went to it, when I lived in the rooming house,
but it didn't have a coffee shop back then.

It's a good business to have.

A lot of people can't afford their own washer and dryer.

There's a guy somewhere who bought a school bus
and he turned it into a laundry/shower bus
for the homeless to be able to bathe and have clean clothes.
He's an example of how if you have a vision like that,
it's possible to actually do it.

Anyway, probably going to work on my sites today.
At some point. There's more organizing to do, too.
I'm up for it today.

Yesterday, I wasn't feeling the greatest...
Still managed to do some things.

Also, I gotta find the guitar strings I have.

My neighbor asked me for a specific string that he broke.
So that he can replace that and he wants to buy keys for it.

It's an Ovation guitar and he said they don't make them anymore.

He got it on a trade for a bike lol.

So, I gotta find those... I put them *somewhere.*

Also, I gotta use up more wool and finish some projects.

Haven't been crocheting or knitting for a while.
I took a break from it because I was working on something...
The stitches are so tight that my hands were sore.

Sometimes I throw a movie on and work on something while watching it.

I went through entire series like that.

Series from my childhood that I saw the episodes before.
Just had been so long and how could I remember each one
after years and years but the nostalgia's still there.

Like "My Secret Identity," "Small Wonder," "Golden Girls..."
I also used to watch "Are you afraid of the dark?" lol.

All those Nickelodeon shows and YTV shows...
Nick got "the slime" idea from the show filmed in O-town
called "you can't do that on television."

When someone said the trigger word, they got slimed.
"I don't know."

When they said "water" they got water dumped on them.

And they had "locker jokes" and El Capitan.

CJOH came up with that show.
Wanted to start a show by kids for kids.
It took off and they even showed it in the USA.

Probably not the entire USA, but in NY.
A friend who used to live in NY, from Chile...
He told me he loved that show.

Funny thing is that we met around the corner from there.

He didn't know it was filmed here.
One of our claims to fame.

Just something "light" to watch.
A guy I went to school with was in one episode
of "are you afraid of the dark?"

I don't know how he managed that, but he did.

He was telling everyone at school. I watched the episode.
I remember that kid, but I forget his sister's name.

They were on the same school bus as me.

Maybe I should go by that school for nostalgia's sake.
I was there for grade 2 and 3 and part of grade 4.

In grade 4 I was put in another "school" which wasn't really
a regular school.

It was called "the child study center."
It was at the university...

Small class sizes and I was the only girl in my class.

In grade 8, I was the only girl in my class, too.

After that, I went to a normal school for grades 5, 6, 7, 8, etc.

Except in high school I was in SSU for grade 9.
SSU for grade 7 and 8, too.

And grade 10 - OAC... At an alternative school.
OAC is a college prep thing. They ended it.
It only goes up to grade 12 now.

OAC was right after grade 12.
I finished high school a month before my son was born.

Exactly a month before he was born, I got my last high school credit.
I went to school while pregnant.

At least I finished high school before he was born. Barely.
He was born before my high school grad.
Someone had to hold him when I got my diploma.
He was a baby.

I wasn't invited to his grad, but he graduated.

School's been hard because of @sshole kids.
And @sshole teachers.

Some things seem to be worse, now.
Than when I was in school.

It did suck when I was in school, though.
