About Those Buses

Ottawa, threee years ago, announced that
by 2027 we'd have 450 electric buses on the road.

The buses we have are all diesel.
If they 'quadruple' carbon taxes,

IT'LL LIKELY COST MORE MONEY
TO TAKE THE BUS.

WITH ZERO IMPROVEMENT TO SCHEDULING.
OR BUS SHELTERS.

WAITING FOR THE BUS IN WINTER SUCKS.
IT GETS TO BE -20C HERE.

(Just like there are people who can't translate C to F,
there are people who can't translate F to C). 

-20C is -4F.
Not fun waiting outside for a bus
in that kind of weather.

The question I ask is this:
Would you trade huricanes for -20C?

We don't have hurricanes up here,
but it gets freaking cold and it can get nuts.

What I'm referring to are ice storms,
but this is about those buses...

So we were supposed to go electric.
HOW WERE WE SUPPOSED TO CHARGE
450 BUSES?

And if it just runs out of juice?
During winter? Gets stuck in the snow?
THE ENGINE COULD BURN ITSELF OUT
JUST TRYING TO GET OUT OF THE SNOW.

Besides that, I heard that Canada sent a lot of money
to another country to build all kinds of electric cars
because the government wants to force people to go electric
WHEN WE DO NOT HAVE THE GRID FOR THAT.

I was reading an article today about the e-buses.
We're supposed to get 450 e-buses by 2027.
We've got 4 of them and the transit company
IS LOOKING INTO DIESEL AGAIN...

It's that the new ones are supposed to be 60 feet long.
The ones we have are 40 feet long.

They keep saying the buses are overcrowded.
I've waited for buses that get so full
THAT THEY LITERALLY HAVE NO ROOM
TO LET ANYONE ELSE ON BOARD
AND THEN THEY HAVE TO WAIT
FOR THE NEXT BUS.

I have some points to make about that.

1) How many more people are coming to Ottawa
EVERY YEAR COMPARED TO THE PREVIOUS YEARS?

2) If they don't make changes to the routes and schedules
LIKE ADDING MORE BUSES TO CERTAIN TRANSITS
DURING CERTAIN PEAK TIMES...
WELL, YEAH. THERE'S GOING TO BE OVERCROWDING.

3) What difference will it make to have longer buses?
There were times I was the only one on the bus.

WHAT PEAK TIMES?
WHEN PEOPLE ARE GOING TO AND FROM WORK.
OR SCHOOL.

There are city buses that are just dedicated to picking up students.
I accidentally got on one of those. Too loud.
THE KIDS DON'T STFU OR SIT TF DOWN.

And for Canada Day... 

Anyway, if there were more buses in the PEAK TIMES...
THEY WOULDN'T GET OVERCROWDED.
Funny how that works, eh?

Instead of one every half hour or an hour...
WHY NOT TWO?

But, seriously, how much bigger,
in terms of population, has Ottawa gotten?

Last year, it was 1,437,000 people in Ottawa.
This year, it is 1,452,000.

By 2051, it's said to be projected to 1.79 million people.
Up by over 60% from last year.

Okay so around 20,000 NEW PEOPLE THIS YEAR.
HAS THE TRANSIT COMPANY
MADE MASSIVE CHANGES TO ACCOMODATE
MORE PEOPLE?

Alright, granted, not EVERY NEW PERSON
WHO COMES TO OTTAWA TAKES THE BUS.

Even if half of those people do, that's 10K!

If the bus schedules etc haven't changed much
IN THE LAST 10 YEARS...
TO ACCOMODATE MORE PEOPLE...

HOW DO THEY EXPECT TO SOLVE OVERCROWDING?
LONGER BUSES? WTF!

They just seem f*cking clueless.

I swear, the transit for the city is designed by
PEOPLE WHO PROBABLY DON'T USE IT
THEMSELVES.
BECAUSE THEY COULD AFFORD TO DRIVE FFS.

WHO KNOWS THE STATE OF THE TRANSIT.
IF IT'S NOT THE BUS DRIVERS AND RIDERS?

Anyway, I'll get back to the article in a bit,
but lately I've been thinking that in 100 years from now
these buses are going to seem like the buses
from when they started making buses.

It hit me that bus is sub backwards.
"What should we call this thing? It's as big as a sub!"
"I know! Bus."

Imagine? That'd be hilarious.

Ottawa's making a big deal about carbon emissions
WHILE DECIDING TO GO BACK TO DIESEL?

I can't make this sh*t up.

The general manager for the transit company
wants to buy 40 - 50 diesel buses.
I guess for while we wait on the 446 that are "delayed."

It's like a game of carbon carbon dielsel.
(Duck duck goose).

Is that game even being taught at school anymore?
OR IS IT AGAINST EVERYONE'S RELIGION?

Because we don't sing O CANADA ANYMORE.
How many new Canadians even know our national anthem?

Oh wait! HOW ARE THEY SUPPOSED TO KNOW
ANYTHING WE'RE PHASING OUT OF SCHOOLS?

The school system didn't even prepare MY GENERATION.
THAT'S WHY SO MANY 'YOUNG CANADIANS'
FEEL F*CKING HOPELESS.
THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO.
BECAUSE WE'RE NOT TEACHING THEM ENOUGH.

Besides that, if all they want to do is NOT EVEN PAY ATTENTION.
TALKING IN CLASS ETC...

THEY WON'T LEARN ANYTHING!!!!

That's what it was like in COLLEGE.
Some girls treated it like f*cking HIGH SCHOOL.

IF YOU WANT TO TREAT COLLEGE
LIKE HIGH SCHOOL,
GO BACK TO F*CKING HIGH SCHOOL...
BECAUSE YOU'RE NOT READY FOR COLLEGE.

But even in college, it's the same type of teaching style.
And yeah, people have to find their own ways of teaching themselves.
How to learn and how to study.

Anyway, back to the article...
They were saying that even if they ordered 40-50 diesel buses,
we couldn't get them until 2026 and we're supposed to get
that e-buses by 2027.

And we had to piggyback off the order for Toronto.
Toronto's had a subway system for years. Decades.
Ottawa's STILL building a LRT.

We have 2 lines.
The 1rst line was pretty useless.
It only served the University students.
And people who live closer to where my mom lived.

We were supposed to get 74 e-buses last year.
The delays are 'covid' related.
Factory shutdowns, etc.

Ottawa's spending 1 billion dollars for this new fleet.
Probably from the government.

Anyone remember the bus strike?
There weren't any buses for 51 days.

AND THE GENERAL MANAGER SAYS STUFF
ABOUT THE DELAYS OF THE E-BUSES?

Leaving people without a way to get to dr appointments etc.
And the strike was during winter.
Christmas, New Years...

Anyway, it's due to the transit company
BUYING LARGE BATCHES OF BUSES
AT ONCE.

The article was saying that over 55% of the fleet we have
will by "past their lifespand by the end of this year."

I swear that they do things like this to make it seem
like they are doing something.

KNOWING THAT OUR SYSTEM COULD COLLAPSE.
BECAUSE THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING.

Even with this carbon tax, alot of factories etc
WILL LIKELY MOVE TO THE USA 
BECAUSE IT'D BE TOO EXPENSIVE
TO OPERATE HERE.

Truckers might move to the USA.
Food's less than 30% cheaper in the USA than here.
Rent's probably lower, too.

Except in the biggest cities.
I heard rent's insane in cities like Manhattan.
It's around 5k/month.

Ottawa's the 4th biggest city in Canada.
Even more than 2k/month is crazy, to me.

If it wasn't for this place, I could be homeless, again.
I'm lucky to be where I am.

Still hard to believe that I've been here
as long as I've been.

It'd be a huge transition for me.
I can imagine what it would have been like
for my Grandmother to sell the house
she lived in for 50 years...

When I look back at the places I've lived in, 
I try to remember what it was like living there.

And when I visit someone else's house,
I try to imagine what it'd be like to live there.

A cousin is selling his house.
To buy another house.
But he has to sell the house he's in now
to buy the house he wants to get.

And it's like that down the line.
So the guy who wants to buy my cousin's house
is selling his house to buy my cousin's house.

The guy who wants to buy HIS house,
that deal fell through at the last moment.

So the guy who wants to buy my cousin's house
couldn't buy it because the guy who was supposed to buy
HIS house couldn't.

I wouldn't know how to buy or sell a house.
Never bought or owned one before.

The way things are going, if I saved up,
I could buy a 100th of a tiny home lol.

Standing room only. One person at a time.

Anyway, my cousin and his buddies built that house.
It took them 8 months.

I went there, once. We're not close.
I'm not close with very many people, actually.

I don't need to be known by everyone lol.
I'm fine with existing. 

Someone asked me if I get lonely. I don't.
I used to, yeah. And I'd be focused
on that feeling all the time.
WHERE DID THAT GET ME?
INTO SITUATIONS I COULD HAVE AVOIDED?

ANY FURTHER IN JUST PROGRESSING
IN TERMS OF GROWING AS A PERSON?

No, because my attention was in THAT direction.

I hung out with a chick WHO KEPT ASKING ME
TO BUY HER STUFF AND BORROW MONEY FROM ME.

The more I did and let her, it continued.

And I made the mistake of telling her I had any.
I made the mistake of telling people I loaned money to someone.
THEY GOT MAD THAT I DIDN'T LOAN IT
TO THEM!!!

Nice to know your friends just wanted to use you.

THAT GIRL SENT ME SOMETHING VIA FB.
HASN'T SPOKEN TO ME
SINCE I DROPPED OFF HER KEYS SHE WANTED BACK.
AFTER SHE TOLD ME SHE ASKED SOMEONE ELSE
TO TAKE CARE OF HER CATS...

Like why even ask me to and give me keys...
IF YOU'RE JUST GOING TO TURN AROUND AND DO THAT?
AFTER TAKING FOR GRANTED
THAT I'D EVEN PUT MY LIFE ON HOLD
TO BE THERE.
FOR WHO? HER!

That's just as bad as my so-called 'best friend'
WHEN I WENT TO SEE HIM FOR THE FIRST TIME
IN LIKE 4 MONTHS...
HE INVITED OTHER PEOPLE OVER.
AND LITERALLY TOLD ME
HE FORGOT I WAS EVEN THERE.

He joked to someone RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME.
"I GIVE HER WEED FOR IGNORING HER WHILE SHE'S HERE."

WTF.

WOULD HE TREAT ANYONE ELSE LIKE THAT?

But NOBODY wants to be CALLED OUT for treating me that way.
BECAUSE WHENEVER I SAY ANYTHING ABOUT
ANY OF THAT SH*T...
I'M THE ONE WHO'S 'THE PROBLEM.'

Why hang out with someone who doesn't want to be treated like that, right?
Why hang out to be treated like that.

With one friend, he had me over with other friends of his.
I didn't know they all had plans to go do something.
THEY STARTED TALKING ABOUT IT
LIKE I WASN'T EVEN THERE.
AND I WASN'T INVITED.

People have treated me like I wasn't even THERE!
But if I feel any type of way about that,
THEY'D RATHER NOT HANG OUT.

THIS IS WHY I DON'T WANT TO.

Besides her taking her keys back...
SHE WOULDN'T F*CKING LISTEN TO ME.
AND TRIED TREATING ME LIKE A KID.
LIKE SHE WAS MY MOTHER FFS.

I came out of her washroom and YES I WASHED MY HANDS.
There was someone she wanted to introduce me to.
SO SHE ASKED ME IF I WASHED MY HANDS!
BECAUSE SHE KNEW I'D SHAKE HER HAND!

But she HAD TO MAKE SURE.
LIKE I'M A KID WHO HAS TO BE REMINDED
OR TOLD TO WASH MY HANDS!

DO I ASK HER IF SHE WASHED HERS?

I HAVE NEVER SPOKEN TO HER AS A CHILD.
EVEN THOUGH SHE'S ACTUALLY YOUNGER THAN ME.
I TOLD HER I DON'T LIKE IT.
SHE MADE EXCUSES TO DO IT ANYWAY.

INSTEAD OF LISTENING.
WHEN I TOLD HER THAT I DON'T LIKE IT.

Besides not liking it, I DON'T DO THAT TO HER.
Why? Because she's an adult.

When I was staying with her, I needed to unwind
WHEN SHE WENT TO BED.
TO HAVE TIME FOR MYSELF
BECAUSE ALL MY ATTENTION WAS ON HER ALL DAY.
I NEEDED TIME TO JUST THINK, TO MYSELF.

So she was going to bed late, because I was there, 
and I wanted/needed to stay up later.
For that reason,

She came out of her room to use the washroom
and she was all like "It's late! It's xyz time!"
LIKE SHE WAS TALKING TO ME LIKE A CHILD.
LIKE YEAH, I KNOW.
I DON'T NEED TO BE SPOKEN TO LIKE THAT.

But if I ever TOLD HER, AGAIN
HOW I FELT, SHE WOULDN'T GET IT.
BECAUSE IT'S ALWAYS HER EXCUSES 
TO JUSTIFY DOING IT.

THE FIRST TIME SHE BROKE THINGS OFF WITH ME.
BECAUSE I WANTED TO THINK FOR MYSELF
INSTEAD OF BEING TOLD WHAT TO DO.

Then I went home and didn't talk to her for a while.
She wants to talk but doesn't want to listen and only sees things her way.

SO IS IT WORTH PUTTING UP WITH THAT SH*T
FOR THE SAKE OF TRYING TO MAINTAIN A FRIENDSHIP?

I'm not lonely. I'm not out there begging for friends.
I just have too many wtf things happening.
WHEN I WOULDN'T TREAT THEM LIKE THAT.
WHY WOULD I?
HOW WOULD IT BE COMING FROM ME?

I LITERALLY HAD TO ASK SOMEONE THIS. IRL.
"HOW WOULD THAT BE COMING FROM ME?"

BECAUSE IT WOULD SOMEHOW BE DIFFERENT
IF IT WAS ME DOING THAT TO THEM.

BUT WOULD THEY EVER ADMIT THAT?
WOULD THEY EVER THINK ABOUT THAT?

Why think about that? How would it serve them to? LOL.
Why not just give a bunch of excuses?
TO DO TO ME WHAT THEY KNOW
THAT I WOULDN'T DO THAT TO THEM.

AND IF THEY ASSUME THAT I WOULD
THEY ARE ASSUMING THAT.
AND NEVER KNEW ME AT ALL.

But if I did? WOULD THEY SEE WHAT IT'S LIKE?
THE FEW FRIENDS I HAVE
KNOW HOW TO CONTACT ME, BUT DO THEY?

Did she say even SORRY to me?
Did she realize how she was treating me?
Or treating her mother? 
NO, JUST EXCUSES.

THAT GUY WHO BROKE MY MIRROR.
HE CAME TO GET HIS STUFF
CLEANED UP HIS MESS.

DID HE SAY SORRY TO ME?
EVEN WHEN I REMINDED HIM
THAT IT WAS A FAMILY HEIRLOOM?
WHEN I REMINDED HIM
THAT I WOULDN'T DO THAT TO HIM?

All he said was "I KNOW."
And "There's no excuse for this."

HE KNEW IT WHEN HE WAS DOING IT.
HE STILL LOOKED ME IN THE EYES
AND DID IT TO MY FACE.

How would that be coming from me?
How would ANY of his immaturity and DISRESPECT
BE COMING FROM ME?

And I STILL gave him a chance to clean up his mess.
AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY.
LIKE AN ADULT.

How would that be? People who KNOW
THEY SHOULDN'T BE DOING SOMETHING...
AND DECIDING NOT TO DO IT.

BECAUSE HE COULD HAVE DECIDED
A LONG TIME AGO 
NOT TO TREAT ME 
THE WAY HE ALREADY KNOWS THAT I WOULDN'T
BECAUSE I NEVER F*CKING HAVE.

Besides the miracle of waking tf up.
IT WOULD BE A MIRACLE
IF HE EVER REALIZED WHY I NEVER DID.

But why would he ever think about that? Right?
OR ANYTHING I WAS TELLING HIM.
OR WHY I WAS TELLING HIM.

Only so much I'm going to keep telling someone
who's not f*cking listening. Right?

Maybe if you took and made the time to THINK.

MAYBE HE WOULD GET IT.
BUT I CAN'T UNDERSTAND SOMETHING for SOMEONE.

BECAUSE HE FELT BAD FOR ME FFS.

The guy "There's no excuse for this."
No sh*t! But if there was ONE.
He would give me it over an apology
I'm not going to get.

BUT EVEN IF I GOT IT, 
IT DOESN'T EXCUSE HIM.

Why? Because what kind of BS
would it be FROM ME?

But I'm the problem for saying this stuff.
