Unrealistic

There was a lady I saw making a video about
how Trudeau wants a mandate for electric vehicles.

It's like they want to take away the CHOICE.
BY TRYING TO MAKE IT INTO A MANDATE.

People were P*SSED about the Covid mandates.
Especially the truckers.

The electric car mandate is so BS.
DOES HE REALLY THINK THE AVERAGE PERSON
CAN AFFORD AN ELECTRIC CAR?
BARELY AFFORD FOOD FFS.
AND HOUSING.

Not only that, WHERE ARE WE GETTING THE ELECTRICITY?
TO CHARGE EVERYONE'S EV (ELECTRIC VEHICLE)?

We'd need powerplants we don't have
AND NOBODY IS BUILDING.

And what is anything were to happen to our GRID?

DID JT FORGET ABOUT THE ICE STORM?
That happened. BECAUSE IT IS POSSIBLE.

He is not taking very many things into account.

THE REASON HE'S DOING THIS...
HE GAVE A HEAVY INVESTMENT
TO THE COUNTRIES WHO ARE GOING TO BUILD
ALL THESE ELECTRIC CARS
THAT HE WANTS EVERYONE TO BUY AND DRIVE.

The plan is to only have electric cars in Canada's future.
Not accounting for the cars that are already here?

What I'm wondering is if they are going to be
refusing to sell gasoline or diesel fuel.

MAYBE if they built lightning rods
IT MIGHT STOP FOREST FIRES...

It's been said that raising taxes isn't going to
STOP FOREST FIRES.

But every time Pierre brought up the question

YES OR NO. Is JT going to axe the tax?
AND INSTEAD OF SAYING YES OR NO...
HE BROUGHT UP THE WILD FIRES....

WHAT DO THE FIRES HAVE TO DO
WITH WHY THE PRICE OF FOOD INCREASES?

They are saying that the fires are due to climate change.

Sure, the climate is changing.
Someone I was talking to about the early spring thing...

She was saying that the early spring is nice
because winter is unpleasant...
BUT, the sooner the snow melts and it dries up...
Then it gets too dry and it becomes like kindling.

WITH THE MONEY JT INVESTED
INTO OTHER COUNTRIES FOR THE EVs
THAT HE WANTS TO PUSH ONTO EVERYONE...
TO JUSTIFY EVEN DOING IT
WHEN THAT'S NOT WHAT CANADIANS
HAVE BEEN F*CKING ASKING FOR...

HE COULD HAVE INVESTED THAT MONEY
INTO OUR COUNTRY TO BUILD WATER BOMBERS.

It was also said that with the money that went to Ukraine,
we could have had around 150 water bombers.

RAISING TAXES THAT HE INVESTED INTO OTHER COUNTRIES
ISN'T PUTTING OUT OUR FIRES.
ONLY TRYING TO PUSH STUPID MANDATES ON US.
You think we're not ALREADY FED UP AS A COUNTRY?

WITH OUR "LEADER" DECIDING THINGS
THAT WE WEREN'T ASKING FOR?

It's like he doesn't listen to the average person.

I watched another video a female made about influencers.
How they rub their wealth in their followers' faces.

How the way they say things tactlessly.

Kind of like "I know YOU can't afford this, but I can."

And in some videos they actually complain
ABOUT HOW THEY SPEND ALL THEIR MONEY.

 It's totally unrelatable.
But what I don't like is how some people try to rub it in.

I don't know. Like a bunch of rich women together...
All talking about their vacations and other things like this.

It's nice for them.

BUT I CAN'T EXPLAIN IT.

When I brought up possibly teaching others
how to knit and crochet as a group,
one lady was saying:
AS LONG AS THEY TELL US THE DOs and DON'Ts.

ABOUT RELATING TO PEOPLE?

As though certain people have certain rules.

Like talk softly and don't stick your fingers in the cage?

And the type of world they live in has marble floors in the elevators.
And their homes look like they came out of a magazine.

Do I want any of them judging me for how I've lived? No.
Plus, the building property people haven't updated
the inside of my apartment since I've been here.

The other apartments compared to mine...
Are totally different.

It's easy to assume that I have a place
just like theirs because why wouldn't I?

They will modernize it when I move out.
I'm extremely lucky that I have what I have, though.

My first place on my own was a room in a rooming house.
I paid for a small room $360/month
The biggest room was $420/month.
This was 24 years ago.

That place was so badly maintained that the furnace got condemned
in the winter time, no heat for us in the whole place.
We had electricity so we turned the oven and stove on to keep warm.

It was 2 buildings joined together with a joint kitchen.
Kind of like a duplex, but joined together.
I don't know how many rooming houses are owned
by the company that owns them in that area.

But just a couple of years ago I was at one of them.
A room around the same size as my old room...
She said it costs $780.

For a room less than half the size I was in $420/month.
Yeah times change from decade to decade,
BUT MORE THAN DOUBLED IN 20 YEARS.

When I watch the 70s episodes of Price Is Right,
The challenge is to guess how much it used to cost.
Because it sure doesn't cost how much it used to cost.

The 2000s is the new 20 years ago.
In the 2000s, the 80s was the 20 years ago.
The 70s was the 20 years ago of the 90s.

I was 8 in 1992.
I was allowed to go to the pool by myself.
That's how I spent my allowance.
On swimming at the pool.
$2 from my Grandmother on Sundays.
$2 from my 'job' at school on Fridays.

My first 'job' was helping the janitor after lunch
during the recess cleaning the tables.

The principal gave me $2 on Fridays.

So I used my $4 to go swimming.
It was enough to pay admittance to the pool and get a snack.

There was a pinball game that you could win baseball cards.
I used to win them for my brother.
At a tiny arcade around the corner
from where I used to live when I was a kid.

I'm thinking electric cars might not withstand Canadian weather.
What I mean is who wants to get stuck
and spin wheels trying to get unstuck
and burn out the battery?

What do you think about EVs?
