Needed That

Today is Canada Day.
My friend had her mother over and she doesn't let her mother say anything.
Like her mother was trying to ask her something
AND INSTEAD OF HER MOTHER JUST GETTING TO SPEAK
She got all mad at her mom.

And her mom finally said "It's you."
And she turned to me and asked me
"Is it me?"
And YES IT IS HER.

BUT IF I SAID "YES, IT IS YOU."
SHE WOULD GET MAD.

Because people who don't acknowledge
anything they do or how they treat people
BECAUSE IT IS THEM...
NOT EVERYONE ELSE.

I ONLY HAVE SO MUCH PATIENCE FOR THAT.

Because only so much of it I can push down
without wanting to explode.

And, obviously, it doesn't go over well.
Even being straightforward
When 1) People aren't used to people being extremely honest
2) They don't like being confronted

because it gives her "anxiety" to even talk about
WHAT NEEDS TO BE  ADDRESSED.

WHAT NEEDED TO BE ADDRESSED A LONG TIME AGO
SO THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN NIPPED.

I get she has her own personality, we all do.
There are a lot of great things about her,
but she has to have everything A CERTAIN WAY
OR IT BOTHERS HER TOO MUCH.

But when I am with her, she wants to sit outside
in the driveway like 5-6 times a day.

It's nice to sit outside, yes.
It's that I don't want to go out
just because she wants me to go out with her.
Sometimes, I don't want to be outside.

Just certain things add up over time.
Her mother drops everything for her
and just wants to be heard TOO.

Anyway, I spent Canada Day by myself.
I see a guy named G***** and he's a musician
HE CAN SING IN 20 LANGUAGES.
He always plays "I can see clearly now the rain has gone,"
for me. He plays it just for me.

He'd randomly stop people
and ask if he can sing them a song in their language.
He can sing in 20 languages!

So he sang in Punjabi, Arabic, Chinese, Vietnamese
And people were loving it... They love this guy.
They even say they are proud of him
for singing in their language
AND I LOVE THE LOOKS ON THEIR FACES!!!
BECAUSE THEY AREN'T EXPECTING THAT
AND IT'S SPECIAL FOR THEM.

AND... Tonight, I met a lady who is a violinist.
She had her son with her. HE'S 10 YEARS OLD
AND HE HAD HIMSELF A LITTLE GUITAR
HIS MOM HAD THE AMP
AND HER VIOLIN HOOKED UP TOO.
Mother and son duets, guitar and violin.

TWO SONGS HE DID...

Halleluja. Beautiful Things.
He's 10 years old with his little guitar.
He's doing great. I can sure see him on stage one day.
Blew me away. Sweet that he's got his Mom to teach him.
It was great to be there today.

G**** is great. A Greek guy who moved here from Montreal.
He's so nice! Well, now, I might bring my guitar next time.
People told me it has a good sound, it's that even doing
that open mic night, once, that... Was weird to me.

I only went once. But it'd be okay to go, again.
Maybe it was weird just being there by myself,
And playing in front of strangers...

I guess once you get over that part...

A***, his Mom, started playing violin when she was 5 years old.

I'm wondering when her son started playing,
but he's able to play those, really well.
He's only 10.

But the songs he sang, very well, that's pretty powerful.
It's hard to explain.

You know that feeling like "I'm happy for this kid."
and seeing him on stage even, I can envision it.

That feeling you get with those golden buzzer videos lol.
And people stopped to film him. He did great.

I'd like to ask around for him to see if there could be
hidden opportunities.

I really would like to see the College do a talent show for the city.
Like A********'s Got Talent.

Even Canada's Got Talent.
Something like that.

I needed that. His little guitar and little voice.
Singing the two songs that have been poignant to me.
I needed that, it restored some of my soul.
I don't know how to explain that.
