"Fall in love with the process and the results will follow."
Which process?
The process of moving?
The process of learning?
The process of transformation?
The process of becoming...
The process of adaptation...
The process of evolution...
Perhaps the process of becoming is:
Adaptation + Evolution.
The process of knowing ourselves and understanding others.
I get these clues from time to time.
It's like half of the advice. Process of what?
Maybe it refers to any process.
I've been tired and not been able to sleep.
I keep going to bed late. I seem to be nocturnal again.
Maybe we were naturally meant to be nocturnal.
Maybe we roamed when the dinos were asleep.
I'm taking the time to read tonight.
I feel the need and desire to broaden my mind.
So I am reading "Emotional Intelligence."
A birthday gift from a friend.
There are some parts I want to write down, on this blog.
"Emotional aptitude is a meta-ability,
determining how well we can use whatever other skills we have,
including raw intellect."
"People who cannot marshal some control over their emotional life
fight inner battles that sabotage their ability
for focused work and clear thought."
"There are hundreds and hundreds of ways to succeed,
and many, many different abilities
that will help you get there."
Another book I'd like to read is called:
"Frames of Mind." By Howard Gardner.
It talks about a wide spectrum of intelligences.
With 7 'key varieties'.
The "intrapsychic capacity" and the "personal intelligences."
"the inner contentment that arises from
attuning one's life to be in keeping
with one's true feelings."
There are more than 7 varieties of intelligence.
Gardner and his colleagues made a list of 20.
"Interpersonal intelligence is the ability
to understand other people.
What motivates them, how they work,
how to work cooperatively with them.
Salespeople, politicians, teachers, clinicians, and religious leaders
are likely to be people with high degrees of interpersonal intelligence."
"Intrapersonal intelligence is the ability
to form an accurate, veridical model of oneself
and to be able to use that model to operate effectively in life."
Interpersonal: Includes the capacities to discern and respond
appropriately to the moods, temperaments, motivations,
and desires of other people."
Intrapersonal: Is the key to self knowledge.
Access to one's own feelings
and the ability to discriminate among them
and draw upon them to guide behavior."
In future posts, I'll write about these things and other things.
