You Give an Inch, They Take a Mile

I have decided to apply to MD's. I went there with my application forms and the manager told me to bring it back with a resume attached. I don't know why I didn't do that in the first place. One my way back to the school, a guy asked me for a quarter. I thought he had an urgent phone call to make so, being the generous person I can be, I gave him one. When he saw that I had loonies he begged me for one, and I gave him one. Then he asked for another quarter and I gave him another because he said he wasn't going to ask again and that he'd leave. Then when I gave him another quarter he asked for another loonie! I told him no, I don't have a job. He said that it wasn't enough. He had the money. He had a diskman and decent clothes.

When I had nothing, I used to squeegee for $30 dollars a day. That would be enough for food, entertainment and comfort for my mind. I'd have enough for breakfast the next morning. At least I did something instead of have my hand out for money from strangers. I mean, washing windshields isn't the best job in the world, but you don't really need experience or a resume. You just need a bucket and a squeegee.

I'm going to get a real job. I hope they hire me at MD's. I'd feel like a real loser if they didn't. Hopefully someone will hire me. I don't want to be back where I was on a street corner with a bucket in my hand. I don't want to be where I was 7 years ago. I'm a different person now. So help me, I have changed!
