I studied all day today. I prepared all my notes today.
I can make videos, but I don't have to. The notes are good.
I have to go over them again later.
Spent all day with my face in this text book.
The good thing is that I don't have to go in for my kitchen shift tomorrow.
So I don't have to get up at 3am. I can go for lunch, read a bit...
I was worried about the skills assessment thing and it wasn't like what I thought.
It was pretty easy so it shouldn't be as bad as I think it is.
The first chapter is the history of cookery. The famous Chefs.
Who contributed to the industry, like menu making, organizing the kitchen,
stuff like this. Chapter 3 is equipment.
A lot of it I'm not familiar with since I'm new to big kitchens.
This is like industrial equipment and pro equipment.
Stuff I've never been able to afford, or had no use for,
or never had the opportunity to use. Ever.
There are like 12 types of knives...
Then all the cooktops, rules for them,
hand tools, measuring tools, parts of the knife etc.
Most of these things I've never used before.
I've washed a lot of them, but never used them.
I'm just tired and feel kind of burned out. Crammed pretty hard for hours.
And I'm going to cram again later, and tomorrow.
I want to pass this. I want to do better than just pass it.
We get 3 hours to take this test, so we can take our time.
For the food safety test we get 5 hours.
That is next week so I have to cram for that, too.
All the types of contamination and stuff like like.
Toxins and infections etc.
Safe preparation and stuff like this.
To prevent people from getting sick.
And it's not just preventing contamination,
it's also about storing food properly and stuff like that.
So I have a week to cram for this.
I'm thinking about maybe getting a tutor or something
if I am really struggling.
I'll try to do the best that I can, though.
Probably make some videos later on, but I need to take a break.
Might even go to bed early and wake up early.
Hmmm what should I do to unwind after a long study session?
Any ideas?
