Snow Day (Part 2)

So... Today it took like 2 and a half hours to get home.
Because of the snow, buses were getting stuck and were late.
It was a real sh*t show out there.
I really thought that we were going to get stuck, too.
Luckily we didn't.

I thought we were going to have a test today,
but we had an overview.
I can't say I studied for nothing, I learned a lot.
And I have to know this because there will be a test.
There will be a review right before the test.
They keep saying: "We want you to succeed."
So they will do their best to help us out.
And we help each other out.

The thing is tomorrow I have kitchen training.
All breakfast shifts this week. Starting at 6am.
Because of the weather, I will have to leave earlier...
So not sure when to leave, but have to give myself enough time.
I don't care about it taking long on the way home,
but I don't want to be late.

I did my best to dig a few of my neighbors out of the parking lot.
I should have worn my gloves, but I didn't. My hands are sore.
I'm hoping they won't be sore tomorrow
because I will have to use them.
Yesterday was an easy day. I was in the dish pit.

Today, I left early to get there, so I was early.
There was a guy in a wheelchair, a guy with one leg...
He was trying to get his own wheelchair across the street.
People were walking by him, just ignoring him.
There was a guy panhandling right there.
He couldn't have not seen him.

I could have just left him to try to do it on his own,
but I couldn't do that. So I offered my assistance.
I pushed him in his wheelchair across the street, through the snow.
Then I wheeled him to the bus stop.

It's something I would have wanted, if I had a wheelchair.
For someone to just come along and help me.
I don't get how people can just walk by and not help someone
who needs help. They don't care.
I think I was meant to get there early
so that I would be there at that moment
so that I could be the person to help him.

All the good things we do come back to us.
When we help those who need it, others help us.

All the stupid, sh*tty things we do come back to us, too.
I keep thinking that I still have to answer for them.
I don't think I have gotten it back, yet, but I will.

We got 21.8cm on the 20th, (8.56 inches).
The site hasn't been updated for today's snowfall.
The snowbanks need to be removed soon.
The trucks come and they have these blower truck things
that suck up the snow and fill the trucks with it
and then the trucks dump it in a place where they put the snow.
It takes until the summer to completely melt
because it's so dirty that the sun can't shine through the dirt to melt it.

I want to write more, but I'm so tired and going to go to bed soon.
