Reflections of The Mind

Today's quote resonates with me.
"Don't let the mistakes and disappointments of the past
control and direct your future."
-Zig Ziglar

"That was then, this is now."
Ever read that book? By S.E Hinton.
She wrote The Outsiders when she was 16.
She wrote a bunch of books, I have some.

Anyway, I was letting the past control and direct me
because I was letting it affect me. It can be hard not to.
I already know that I shouldn't.
But knowing I shouldn't and not knowing how not to let it,
are two different things.
Knowing vs not knowing.
It's like theory vs application.
Knowing that I shouldn't take some things personally,
and not knowing how not to let it affect me are two different things.

People make mistakes, but do they have to pay for them forever?
How much suffering is enough suffering?
How much guilt is enough guilt?
How much regret is enough regret?
How much remorse is enough remorse?

I was watching a broadcast by someone today.
I've seen a few of his. He has some interesting things to say.
One thing he said was that our emotions are reflections of the mind.
Perhaps they are. Maybe that's how they are linked to our thoughts.

I've got a lot on my mind tonight and I am tired.
So I might have to continue this post tomorrow.
I kind of lost my train of thought. It happens.
I had more to say, but my mind is all over the place right now.

To Be Continued....
