What's New?

Same old here. Still working and working on the web stuff.
Making some progress at it, not a lot, but some.
I guess if I had as much time to work on it as I used to, I'd get more done,
but been busy with other things
and haven't even had much time to knit or crochet.
Which as most of you know, is one of my main interests/hobbies.

Weekends are alright, but mostly use them
to spend time with my son,
to get stuff done around the apartment,
or to go out. Been going to Little Italy, the Arboretum,
and to the Experimental Farm.
I like feeding the groundhogs.
When we went to go feed one we named Hogan...
We found him dead near his hole.
He'd been dead at least a couple of days.
Looked like a dog got him.
People bring their dogs to the Arboretum
and The Experimental Farm.
Lots of space for them to run around, but...
It was a sad day for me. Seeing Hogan dead like that.

We went to the gardens to see other hogs we named Alpha and Omega.
One is huge and the other is small, so seemed like good names for them.
We didn't get to see them
because they are fixing a pond thing near their holes.
So maybe we will see them next time.

After that, we took a walk to the locks to see if we could find Brat Duck.
We were watching a family of ducks. A mother with 10 ducklings.
One of the ducks was being a brat and refusing to swim with the family.
Even swimming/flying away from his mother at one point.

We cross the locks and go over to the University.
The first time we went there, my boyfriend saw a cardinal for the first time.
He was all excited and said "Look! A red jay!"
He hadn't seen one before and it does kind of look like a blue jay.
Except it is red, obviously. I told him that they are called cardinals.

We sometimes go to cow lane to watch the cows.
Sometimes they come up to the gate.
Close enough to lick us and get petted.
They are really dirty though, so always need to wash up afterward.
They have their names on the tags on their ears.
The ones we saw most of are Delilah, and Magic.
Magic was hogging all the hay. She is a big cow.
It is nice having a farm right in the heart of the city like that.
The only thing is that a couple times a year
we smell the fertilizer because the wind carries the odour all over the city.
Other than that, it is nice.

I felt sick at work today. Near the end of the shift.
Cleaning the elevators. It is because they keep going up and down
while I am trying to clean the inside of them.
Plus, it feels like it is 50 degrees in there.
There is no ventilation in there and the heat just gets trapped.
Motion sickness + heat = barf.
Barely had enough time to wash the windows at the front afterward.
There are 8 doors with windows I have to wash every night.
Because people apparently don't know how to open the doors
without touching the glass. They love leaving fingerprints all over them.
They are pretty easy to wash, but I hate coming to work
to see how dirty they got in the course of a day.
It is as though nobody appreciates clean windows.
I hope to have a new job somewhere else before the winter starts.
Because I already know they will be bad in the winter.
Plus, having to deal with all the salt.
So... No thanks!
It isn't as bad as it could be at work right now because
lots of people are on vacation.
But once that is all over and people are back in full swing,
it is going to be terrible and I just hope I am out of there before that.

So I guess that is all I can say about that.
If anything good happens soon, I'll write about it.
But for now, pretty much everything is the same.
We go through spurts of excitement where lots of changes happen,
and then spurts where nothing exciting or major happens.
