I Got a Call...

I got a call this morning from one of my friends. It was his birthday on Wednesday. I had to work. I didn't get to see him on his birthday. We spoke on the phone. Then, on Friday... When he was at work... I went to his place with decorations and baked him a chocolate cake. I put mini oreos, mini chocolate kisses and peanut butter flavoured chocolate type chips on his cake after I iced it with chocolate icing.

My gift to him was a lotto ticket for 40 million dollars. He called me today to tell me that he got all the numbers except for 2. I think he still wins something. He said that if it is enough, he'll take me out for dinner. I hope it's enough that he has to go to Toronto to get it. I'd take a trip to Toronto to claim it with him. Even though I'm not fond of Toronto. Just to see the look on his face.

Something told me to get a ticket.
Even though I didn't have much money. Something told me to give it to him for his birthday.

------------------------------------------------------

Got another call and he told me he won $110.00. Which is better than nothing.
It's not often that people win anything at all in the lotto.
Next week, it's going up to $50 million dollars.

Was going to take my son to the parade. He's not feeling well. Plus it's raining. Got to do some shopping later on, so hopefully he feels better. I don't want to leave him here by himself. Even though he's old enough to stay here on his own for a little while. He's twelve years old now. I'm pretty sure that is the age where they are allowed to stay on their own, and even old enough to babysit. I took a course in babysitting when I was his age. He's not one to get into trouble. He's pretty mature for his age.

When he was much younger I taught him the difference between appropriate and inappropriate.

He'd say things like "Mommy, the kids at school are so inappropriate."

---------------------------------------------------------------

So St. Patrick's Day is on Tuesday. Not sure what I'm going to do for that, yet.
Last year I went and had a couple of pops.
Was my first without drinking.
This'll be my second.

On Monday I'm going to another knitting guild meeting. I have to return these books I borrowed from their library. I'm going to pick another couple of books. I'm working on a scarf and there are a few other things that I haven't finished yet.

I'm knitting a blanket and crocheting a few as well. Those are going to take a while. Something to do. I have been finding all kinds of patterns on pintrest and I have lots of magazines here. I'm not in need of patterns, but I keep finding ones I really like. I want to try a few at least. I'm feeling the creative energy flowing. I love it.

Hopefully next Friday I can go see a friend of mine I haven't seen in a while.
We met at school in the 5th grade. I'd like to bring my guitar over to his place.
Hopefully he'll teach me some things. I've been learning the 8 basic chords.

I'm learning G, C, E major, E minor, D, A major, A minor, F

It's a start. Also I learned that the strings are EAD GBE
Been learning guitar stuff on youtube since I can't afford lessons.

Not even sure how I'm going to make it through the week, but I'm getting paid next week.
Then I'll stretch that as much as I can. I'll have to.

If my buddy won the $40 million... I'm sure he'd give me a slice of that pie.
I guess there's always next week to try again.
It's an even bigger pie for next week.

Hi Abby,

Those are good chords but you should add these ones to your list.

D minor, B-flat Major (should actually be diminished but B-flat will do)

Which, will give you:
C, Dm, Em, F, G, Am, Bb

From there you should be able to approximate most songs..

Bb is a Barre chord so that's going to suck a little bit but it's worth learning.

Thanks Sean! I'm really at the beginning stages of this guitar stuff. Had I stuck with it years ago, like I was supposed to, I would be so much further ahead by now.

I'm a bit confused as to what Bb is. Is it a B flat?
