Man, oh man! Ottawa is nuts. I'm thinking that inflation is going to make us all into slaves for the rest of our lives. Seriously. So gas prices are going up, again. Well, have already gone up. So this means that the price of food is going to go up again because the cost of delivery will go up due to the price of gas.
Also, the price for a bus pass, and bus fares in general have risen. It seems like they are raising it annually. The greedy buggers! Always increase it on Canada Day. Like they give free rides on Canada Day, have to work on Canada Day (but probably get Holiday Pay) and have to tolerate rowdy drunken idiots on Canada Day.
So... Prices have gone up.

Notice how they want almost $5.00 for one ride? For an adult express bus ride? One day they'll be charging $5 dollars per ticket and expecting 3 or even 4 tickets. Tickets come in sheets of 6, so if you're going to work using tickets, it's taking a whole sheet per day. At $11.34 per sheet. Per day. Still cheaper than a tank of gas probably, but it's just getting crazy with the raising of rates.
The implementing of the Presto Card was to make the lines shorter to get a pass or whatever. People are supposed to be able to just go online and fill it up, online. But they still line up to get money put onto their cards. The whole point of the cards is to make the lines shorter. The lines are crazy and you get people budding in line, getting all mad and impatient, then you get the person who has to serve them all losing their patience because the line is too long. Instead of having two windows open and serving two people at a time, they usually just have one window open and serve one at a time.
I really do not like OC Transpo, but I have to deal with them to get places. Even though they are unreliable and we get worse and worse service for more and more money. It's already the highest fares in North America. I remember when tickets were less than a dollar. I remember when you used to have 4 hours on your transfer. Not just an hour and a half. Pretty soon they'll reduce that too, I'm sure. If it weren't for the passengers, there'd be no buses, no bus driving cushy jobs. No need for this kind of extortion. It really does seem like extortion. We know you need it so you'll have to pay through the eyes and nose for it. I'd like to see them raise it so high that people will go on strike and teach them a lesson. I'd really love to see passengers go on strike. I know how impossible that would be since people have to go places for all kinds of reasons... But wouldn't it be nice to pay them back for that last strike in the middle of winter we had? Like a big F- You! For that damn strike, all the strikes before that, and all the strikes they are planning for the future. It'd be nice if they made like zero money for 1 day even. Would be better if it was longer than a day, but I'd hate to see how much money they make off everyone each day.
This song is funny. A bit blurry, but funny.
