I Voted

It's election time again. I hate elections. I get all these stupid election calls, and flyers. I don't want to know how much money goes into election campaigns. Probably way too much. It was a hard choice for me this year. I don't see myself voting Liberal. Or for the party I used to vote for. Because I find them too liberal with our tax dollars. Too many scandals, etc. I hate politics, but these scandals make me hate them more. Not just politics, but politicians.

For example: The Walkerton Water catastrophe. They decided that they weren't going to fund water testing. Or something like that. Or made cutbacks. So the water got ecoli and because they weren't testing it, they didn't know until people started getting sick and dying. We got shipments from all over the world of bottled water. It's nice that people wanted to and did help us, but this is Canada. We shouldn't need help. We are usually the ones doing the helping. So I'm not about to forgive them for that. Not for the disappearance of millions of dollars either.

The rent keeps going up to the point people will eventually not be able to afford housing. Same with food. I can't believe how much people are charging for a block of cheese. Have you seen that? $8.00 for a block of cheese? I know inflation is inevitable, but for f*ck sake... People are having a hard time affording things these days. It's like if you aren't working for the damn government, then too bad for you. The government doesn't even care about their own workers, either.

The minimum wage in Ontario is $11/h. For students, the minimum wage is $10.30. For liquor servers, the minimum wage is $9.55.

Bus drivers get $27/h. Bus passes cost over $100/month. How is that affordable for someone making $9.55/h?

At $9.55/h..... That's $1, 528/month... $18, 336/year....

At $10.30/h.... That's $1, 648/month... $19, 776/year

At $11.00/h.... That's $1, 760/month... $21, 120/year

At $27.00/h... That's $4, 320/month.... $51, 840/year

Bus driving is the only job I know of that pays $27/h

BUT.... Massage therapists... They make $60/h

At $60.00/h.... That's $9, 600/month... $115, 200/year.

The poverty line... That annual income is $23,021 (for a family of 4) At minimum wage... That's BELOW the poverty line. How can a family of 4 live on that? It's ridiculous when you think of it...

What used to cost $100.00...  100 years ago (1914)
Costs                $2, 086.67 ..           NOW   (2014)

The annual inflation rate is about 3.08%. so next year I'm guessing that things will cost 3.08% more than this year etc. If it keeps going like this, people will not be able to afford to survive.

The inflation rate affects everyone, but the minimum wage doesn't go up very much. Doesn't match inflation.

So this is why I hate politicians and politics. They expect people to live off mac n' cheese, and tuna. Or peanut butter. Give them the average Canadian income and see how they'd survive on that... And they want US to vote for THEM?! For WHAT?! More of the same sh*t?! Give us a f*cking break!
