Tonight I am going back to work. Hopefully it will go better than it has been going. I just want to do a better job. Some people have said that I have been doing a good job, but I know I can do better and I just want to get everything done that I have to get done.
Today, my son and I made a movie. He really liked working on it and watching it when it was finished. I helped him make some pictures for it on the 'paint' program, then we used 'Windows Movie Maker' to put the pictures together and he even made his own audio for the movie. He did the characters' voices. It turned out really cute.
I'm almost done the book I've been reading, called: "The Boys On the Tracks." It's about a government conspiracy to cover up drug smuggling, gun running, and money laundering. The drug smuggler was running guns to the Contra back in the 80's. He was working for the CIA and the DEA. He became an informant to stay out of jail, yet he wasn't placed in protective custody and there was a million dollar bounty on his head. He was gunned down and died on the spot.
The story starts off with the death of two teenage boys. The investigation was basically shut down because the deaths were related to this massive drug smuggling ring that the government was tied into. It's an interesting story. It's about how easily the government can get away with whatever they want to get away with and how easily they can protect those involved. Also about a mother's battle with the government to investigate her son's murder.
The boys were killed and placed on the railroad tracks to make it look like they were accidentally hit by a train. One of their fathers was a conductor and he would have taught his kids to stay away from train tracks. So obviously it was no accident. Just like a firefighter would always tell their kids not to play with matches.
I have a bunch of books to choose from next. I don't know which one I will read after I finish the last five chapters of this book. It seems like it'll take forever to finish reading it, but it is a good book. There have been a couple of times I wanted to stop reading it just because it has taken so long to get to the part I'm at. I get impatient. I know people who can read a book that thick in a matter of days and it has taken me weeks. I guess I am a slow reader or something. I like to take my time so that I don't miss anything good, but also, I have had a lot of distractions and the only time I have the chance to read is just before I go to bed, So perhaps that is the reason it has taken so long to read as much as I have read.
I still would like to write a story, but I'm pretty rusty at writing. The only time I write is on here, and writing emails. Other than that, I don't have much time to write and even if I did have some time, I can't seem to put my ideas into place to write a good enough story. I'm pretty much always disappointed with what I write. I don't know why. I want to be good at writing, and reading. I want to be proficient and effective. I want to be able to convey my ideas in a way that they make sense.
