Monday Musings

I'm back at work. Only had one day off this week. I'm back on my medication and I've been feeling good. I went to the gym recently too and it felt good to get a work out in. I really should go to the gym more often. I can get an appointment with a personal trainer and I've been thinking about doing that. It only costs twenty bucks for a whole hour. Man, I wish I could make twenty bucks an hour!

I think bus drivers make like twenty four dollars an hour. They want to go on strike soon and they will be raising the fare again because of rising gas prices. I guess it makes a little sense, but that really sucks for the people who can barely afford to take the bus now. I came across an old bus transfer today. It really brought me back to the old days when the buses had stairs and those flesh colored seats. And the red tape on the poles. And you had to step down to open the door. Now all you have to do is push the bar. I don't like those new buses with the door that slides open because they are slow to open and sometimes the driver can't get the door to close. I used to want to be a bus driver when I was a kid. I'm an adult and I still can't even drive a car.

Anyway, I can't believe how great everything seems. I have a feeling that is is largely due to the pills I take, but at least they are working and I don't feel bad like I used to. Exercising helps too. I feel really good after I go to the gym and it's something just for me. Everyone should take time for themselves to do something that makes them feel good.

I took some pictures today. Some of them turned out really good. Others I'm not going to post here. I found a cute little bug on the balcony today. It was black and had a bit of red on it. I took some pictures of it because I had never seen a bug like it before. I see some really cool bugs, but my camera can't really focus on little things like that. I'd like to get better at taking pictures so that I can get a really good camera that zooms and doesn't get blurry when I try to take close ups. One of my friends told me that I should just take the picture without using the zoom and then just cropping the picture to focus in on the object. That works. The object isn't blurry then. I guess with time and practice I'll get it figured out.

Another thing I want to do is learn how to play my guitar!

Your camera should have a macro setting which should allow you to focus on little things. Most digital cameras have a macro mode. There is usually an flower icon or a small camera or an M. The other thing that may affect your focus is the lighting conditions. Sometimes digital cameras have trouble focusing in lower light conditions on something small. That's a difficult shot with any camera. They actually make special flashes just for those kind of shots.

The Hal Leonard books for teaching yourself guitar are pretty good...at least, they worked for me..I taught myself with one of them.
