It was my mother and stepfather's aniversary on Sunday, but my stepfather was working so they decided to celebrate it yesterday. They went to go visit a buddy of theirs. A guy my stepfather has known since public school, let's just call him D.M.
So they get to his place and knock on the door. There was no answer. The door was unlocked. They walked in. They found D.M sitting in a chair. He had been dead for a couple of days. It has been pretty hot out and to say the least, his body was in decomposition. They phoned 911. Then the cops came and questioned them for a long time. My mother couldn't sleep that night. She kept having nightmares. I think she is still in shock. It was a pretty nasty sight.
I've known the guy since I was 9 years old and I was surprised when I heard that he was dead.
I guess the guy is in a better place now.
Anyway, I am working pretty regularly now. I worked all day today and they asked me to come back tomorrow. I'm excited. I'm finally working and making some money.
I'm excited about Thursday. The plans that I was supposed to have tonight have moved to Thursday night.
I'm going to call my mother and see how she's holding up. She called me twice today. She sounded panic stricken in her voice messages.

What a creepy story, though. Creepy & traumatic...I would think
Yeah it's been pretty crazy for them. I can't imagine what they are going through. The funeral is on monday and I'm going to try to get some time off to go to it.
