I feel pretty good today. A walk in the park is just what I needed. I saw the baby geese from May. They are so much bigger now, but you can tell they are still young. The mother goose has a nest close to the stadium. She hisses if you get too close to her babies and she hurds them together and coaxes them out onto the pond.
I didn't bring my camera with me. I should have. I am going out again tonight to take some sunset pictures in the park and over by the docks. It was such a nice day. And I learned that geese will break open peanut shells to get to the peanuts. They are smarter than I thought. Groundhogs will eat bananas. I guess I would too, if I was a groundhog.
There were so many people in the park having BBQ's and family picnics. Kids flying kits and playing at the park. I took Daniel to the park and he loved it so much that he cried all the way home. When he saw the groundhog, he said: "A bear!" I laughed and told him it was a groundhog. He can't say groundhog, so he kept calling it a hotdog, which is close enough, I guess. Still very cute. I let him go play in the park with the other kids and then it was time to go home. He didn't want to go home because going home meant it was nap time. Then he saw an icecream cart and pointed his little finger at it and said: "Icecream". I didn't think that I had any money with me, so we pulled over and took a look in the bag. Only two dollars. So I bought him a popsicle. He said: "Thank you" (sounds more like 'Fanku') to the icecream man and I had to help him eat it before it melted. On the way out of the park, we saw these people pulling a long rope, everybody had lined up along side the rope, like kids at a day care going for a walk. I heard a guy singing some religious song and at the end of the rope was a huge cart decorated with balloons and flowers. It was very colourful. Now Daniel is having a nap. And I am taking a break. I still don't know what I'm going to do with all the feathers that Daniel and I found at the park.
When I go to the park tonight, I am going to bring a bag of popcorn to give to the birds. Although it is stale, they are still going to love it. Hopefully, I will get some great pictures as well. I'll post them later tonight.

WHen I hear "Daniel" I always think of the song by Elton John. Now it's in my head. There it will stay all day. Part of being insane, I suppose.
I enjoyed reading about the walk in the park. As a young lad, I was once attacked by a flock of geese protecting their younglings. I ran faster than my friend....he fell while running.....and was pecked.
Yeah, when I hear that song on the radio it gets stuck in my head. I went back to the park after dinner and fed the geese some popcorn. They ate right out of my hands. It was great. I'm sorry to hear about your experience as a child. That can be quite traumatizing for a kid.
