Knitting Again

It is late at night and here I am knitting again.
Watching a show called "Who the Bleep Did I Marry?!"
Another show this show makes me think of is called:
"Married at First Sight."
When two strangers meet at the alter and get married.
How can you know someone well enough to marry them
when you just met them?!
Even people who have known each other for a while...
One might not REALLY know the other.

Anyway, I finished one of the socks I am knitting.
It helps that I have made socks before.
The pattern is supposed to be knit in the round,
On double pointed needles, but I hate using double pointed needles.
Because the stitches keep falling off one end or the other, or both ends.
So I knit the sock on two straight needles. Then sewed the seam.
I probably won't make a lot of progress with the next one tonight,
but I am at least going to get it started. That I can do.

I hadn't had much time for knitting for a while.
Since I started my job. Then started working more.
Now that things are slowing down for me, I can start knitting again.

I would love to knit and crochet for a living,
but I have a hard time selling my stuff.
Even to people who offered me money for me to make them something.
That is the worst. There have only been a few people who actually paid.
Nothing like wasting my time making something for someone
who changes their mind after it is made and then ignores/avoids me.

So now I mostly just make gifts for friends and family.
Maybe one day I can sell a few things
or teach someone how to knit or crochet.
Most people say they want to learn and then don't take the time
to actually sit down with me to actually learn.
Which is their choice.
But would be nice if someone was actually serious about it.

My mother asked me to teach her how to make a square.
She is making a blanket. She is making the squares and I am joining them.
She still has 24 more squares to go, but will probably be done before winter.

I need to start making socks, gloves, mittens, hats, etc.
Because winter is coming and it will be here fast.
If I do a bit every day, I'll make some progress.
I love completing a project.
Especially a very big project, like a blanket.
It is like a sigh of relief.
I'm so happy that I got one of my socks finished.
Bed time soon, though.
