Artsy Fartsy

Been a long time since I've done much art.
Other than knitting and crocheting of course.
I used to draw a long time ago. Not that I am very good at it.
My brother is pretty good at art. He is the artist in the family.
I have been watching lots of art videos on youtube.
They are getting me in 'the mood' to do some art.
Been watching some stuff on paper mache and things like that.
Also videos on image transferring onto surfaces like canvas, wood, metal, plastic.
Those sound fun and look fun. I want to try it.

Anyway, someone outbid me on that laptop I was going to buy.
I have to figure out something. I really want to retrieve some data.
Mostly some documents and photos.
I don't think it has really fully hit me that I can't use my computer anymore.
When it does, it won't be pleasant.
When I had to go without internet for months...
The first few months were the hardest. I eventually got used to it.
By finding other things to do. Like knitting, crocheting, reading,
watching videos on my VCR, and listening to music.
Yes, I still use my VCR.
The color is gone from my TV so all videos and games are black and white.
I thought it was the Nintendo, but it is actually the TV.
Someone was throwing it out and I took it.
I've gotten a lot of things from people throwing things out.
Lamps, my couch, my TV, a plant. Etc.

It gets so late so fast. By the time we get home from the second shift...
It is 2 am. Then I want to take time to unwind a bit afterwards.
Plus, I like taking time to myself when my boyfriend is sleeping.
Since we are literally always together.
(except sleeping and some other things).
But living together and working together means little time to myself.
But staying up late means I don't get enough sleep.

Anyway, I guess art would help me get my mind off not being able
to access those documents and not having my own computer.
Plus, I think I might need a break from my usual art.
Been using left over balls of wool to make the latest project.
My boyfriend doesn't like it. He basically said it isn't my best work.
Sort of discouraging a bit. Makes me wonder if anyone would like it.
Is art supposed to be subjective rather than objective?
Or is art supposed to be objective rather than subjective?

The first thing I ever made for him is a pair of slippers.
Which he never wears. Makes me wonder if he is just saying he likes them.
Not to hurt my feelings. The blanket I made him, he uses.
Even though it is still not finished. It needs a border.
Hoping to get it done before his birthday.
But the rate things are going, it might be closer to Christmas.

I just think art is fun and a good way to express creativity.
I just wish there was more time in a day to make things happen.

Ohhhhhh now I understand! OK when you get a replacement computer let me know and I'll help you recover your files from your old HD. It's super easy we just pull the HD from your old computer and hook it up with my special cable to the USB on your new computer and transfer the files

Thanks a bunch Sean :) And by the way, happy belated birthday. August kind of slipped by pretty fast. Only felt like a couple of weeks. Hope you had a good one!
