Karma Is a Kick In The Ass... And Then Some.

People in Ottawa are talking about a man who died in police custody.
Happens that the man was a black man,
so people are citing racism and "Black Lives Matter."
I agree black lives matter, but ALL lives matter.
Humans are human. No black, no white. Humanity.

I didn't see the full altercation. I only know what people are saying.
People say he was groping women at a coffee shop.
The police were called, they came. They chased him.
He was running home, resisting arrest.
They beat him with a baton. He was hit in the head.
He died pretty much at the scene.

They didn't have to hit him with the baton.
Especially in the head! The damn thing is as thick as a mag flashlight.

The last death in police custody before this was 11 years ago.
It's not like this stuff happens here all the time. It doesn't.
But it does happen sometimes. It isn't intentional.
Cops are held to high standards.
They are supposed to be professional at all times.
Sometimes they just aren't. That is the human side.
Human f*ck up. It happens. I doubt they meant to kill the guy,
but they should have realized that hitting someone in the head with a baton
could and might cause serious injury or death.

I don't know if any of you remember that teen in Toronto
who got shot by a cop 9 times...
He died. The cop is finally going to court.
He was charged with second degree murder,
but that charge was thrown out. Not sure why.
I mean, you shoot someone 9 f*cking times...
you can't expect them to live through that.
What are you going to say? My trigger finger slipped 9 times?!
He meant to shoot the guy. He did it. Whether or not he wanted him dead...
Only he knows why he did it in the first place.
Again, police officers are held to a high standard.
By the way, there are 4 points of view of this incident.
View 1, View 2, View 3, View 4.
Guilty of attempted murder. Not 2nd degree murder.
To me, attempted murder is when someone tries to kill someone,
and the person does not die from the attempt.
Attempted murder does not mean trying and succeeding.
The guy was dead after the first 3 shots.
WHY shoot him 6 more times?!
Sounds like he wanted to make sure the guy was dead. Does it not?

Some cops are very good at what they do,
but some cops shouldn't be cops.
This goes for every profession for many reasons.
Some people are really good at what they do,
other people, who are not good at what they do, shouldn't be (whatever).
Teachers, Politicians, Cops, any public servant... Etc. Not just cops.
Just when cops f*ck up, people die. When doctors f*ck up, people die.
People can die when egg farmers f*ck up. Salmonella.
There are lots of ways people can die,
but people can be contributing factors. Especially if their actions cause death.
Whether intentional or unintentional.
I would say that the lesson is be careful not to f*ck up.
Not that it's always an easy thing to do.

Also there are consequences to every action.
Resisting arrest... Hitting someone in the head with a baton...
Shooting someone 9 times... Selling rotten eggs...
Hindsight is 20/20. Sometimes we think:
"Damn, I shouldn't have f*cked up." But it is too late.
There are consequences to all f*ck ups. Always.
Karma some way or another. It catches up and kicks our asses.

There are so many instances of cops killing unarmed people.
AND getting away with it.
Even some instances where a cop has already shot and killed someone,
but they were not fired and able to go out and kill someone else.

In the wake of all these fatal shootings, maybe cops should be required
to have a video camera on their person so that they are being filmed
on duty, every shift. Maybe if they are aware of being filmed
they would be less likely to pull their guns out when they don't need to.

Also, cops are trained to increase the level of force for non-compliance
instead of de-escalating.
Deadly force is only necessary when the person is in direct danger.
When it is life or death. Not because f*ckhead isn't listening to demands.
There are always other ways of dealing with the situation.
It's hard to act and remain calm in a tense situation.
But shooting or beating people into submission isn't the answer.
When is this crap going to stop?
When are more cops going to be held accountable for killing people?
