Been watching a show called Making of a Murderer.
It's about how a guy spent 17 or 18 years in jail for a crime he didn't commit.
Then, after he got out, he started a lawsuit against the justice system.
Suing for his wrongful conviction. Which was dropped
when he found himself accused of murdering a woman.
With evidence against him planted. By those who he was suing.
It sickens me that they go to these lengths rather than admit they screwed up
and sent an innocent man to prison. Robbed him of the best years of his life.
Everything he had to sacrifice and what little compensation he got
had to go towards hiring new lawyers to defend him in the new case.
What is even more sickening is they drag his Nephew into it.
Coerce him into a false confession to get testimony against him.
It just seems to get worse and worse for this family.
This kind of stuff happens all over the place. All the time.
Those with power often abuse it. Even get away with it, because they do.
Because it seems that they can do whatever they want to whomever they want.
When conspiracies get close to getting uncovered, they can turn the tables.
It is sickening and disgusting. Lots of adjectives, but it's just beyond words.
Like: "You want to expose us for being corrupt?! We'll show you corrupt!"
Bastards. The whole lot of them.
This is just one of these types of cases. How many more are there?
What else are they covering up? How deep does it really go?
Obviously they were willing to kill to keep it covered up.
They had no problem sacrificing a human life to cover it up.
I've only seen 3 episodes, but I'll be watching more.
This is reality TV. Not for entertainment. This isn't entertainment.
Nothing entertaining about this or anything like this.
These are real situations, real circumstances, real lives at stake.
It just doesn't get any more real than this.
I couldn't make this up, even if I wanted to.
But who would want to? I wouldn't wish this on anyone.
It's all really crazy. All of it, but it's true.
Makes me think that if it could happen to them,
it could happen to anyone.

I watched some of that on Netflix. I think there are two sides to the story and I'm not sure I totally buy the filmmakers side of things. I stopped watching because I felt like the show was not presenting an objective view but rather its purpose was to manipulate viewers into believing Avery was innocent and goad the public into action. Further researching the show, I found I was not the only person who felt that way. I kinda lost interest in the show at that point because I felt that allowing social media to determine the guilt or innocence of an individual is wrong. Ie. If this is OK why not just do away with the court system and judge everyone on Facebook...I totally agree that if the system is corrupt it should be dealt with but not through social media/TV etc...It's so easy to manipulate
True, there are two sides of every story. I liked how they presented the evidence that didn't match up. There were some pretty good questions being raised and some evidence they didn't allow in the trial.
I don't agree that people should judge people on facebook or in social media, but the media had news stories about him and they pretty much told everyone he was guilty before he even went to trial. Had they not done that, the jury might not have been so biased. He wasn't presumed innocent until proven guilty. He was presumed guilty and deemed guilty. If he has been innocent, again, then I think someone ought to pay for putting him and his Nephew away.
