Dr. Mario

I have a Nintendo which still works.
The only part of it that doesn't work is the colour,
but everything else still works. I don't know why the colour doesn't.
I'm guessing that the system needs to be cleaned inside.
I'm hoping that Microplay can clean the system.
They can clean games. They sell games.
One of the games I've got for the NES is Dr.Mario.
I love that game. It's the most addictive game in the world.
Well, for me it is. I could play it for hours.
The only problem with it is that since the colour doesn't work,
it's in black and white which makes the game extremely hard.
The red viruses are easy to destroy because they show up as black.
However, both the yellow and the blue viruses show up as white.
My boyfriend can beat it in black and white, but I cannot.
Which makes me frustrated, which makes me stubborn as heck.
I literally want to keep playing it until I beat it.
The other games we have been playing together are Mario 1 and 3.
It brings me back to the early 90's. My youngest brother was born in '92.

Anyway, not much to report about these days.
Nothing exciting is happening in my life.
My son has a girlfriend, and he won 3rd place in track and field.
I have a feeling he is going to get taller over the summer.
He says he is going to summer school this year. Which is fine.

Hmmm, what else? A bird crapped on my head.
I guess it was bound to happen sooner or later.
Nothing like this though. It was only once and a small bird.
The first time I saw this I couldn't stop laughing.
It isn't so funny when it happens to you, though. Haha.

Then there have been hoards of people around Dow's Lake.
Admiring all the tulips. Yesterday was Victoria Day here.
A national holiday. People call it May 2-4. An excuse to get a 2-4
(A case of beer). Which has 24 beers.
Anyway, we went to Little Italy again and we walked around
in the arboretum. The arboretum is a big park with lots of different trees.
I used to go there with a friend every day after school.
He'd bring his little dog named Scooter.
It was something to do. A routine we had.
After that, we would go back to his room and play backgammon
until my boyfriend (at the time) got home from work.
We would pretend to gamble to make it interesting.
Whoever won would roll the big dye which went up to 64.
Then we would multiply that number by the number of pieces left.
But the slots went up to 6
so we would multiply the pieces by the number of the slot they were on.
Then multiply those numbers by the number on the dye.
Then add it up and write it down. We kept a tally.
If someone was winning and the other person was losing,
We would subtract what they 'owed' from what was 'owing'
to decrease their 'debt'. We never actually paid each other. It was for fun.

Actually backgammon would be a nice break from video games.
I should get myself a board and start playing.
