I have gotten calls before that were from wrong numbers. That stuff is normal.
Happens to everyone at least once in a while.
I have gotten calls from a number that wasn't in service when I called it back.
That happened a few times.
A couple of calls were from some number I didn't recognize.
I called it back and the person who answered it swore they never called me.
That nobody had been home except for them and they hadn't been using the phone.
I found that odd. It was just seconds from when I got a call
from that number and when I called back.
Recently, I got a call. I looked at the call display.
It was MY number on the call display.
I answered it. It sent me to my voicemail. I hung up.
Later that same night, I was in the laundry room. I was the only one there.
I was taking my clothes out of the dryer.
One of the dryers near me just started up on it's own.
It was empty. Showed no time on the clock. Just "0".
I told someone and they were saying there could be explanations.
He offered a few.
But it just was odd.
Those are brand new dryers.
The old ones used to have some wrinkle guard thing
where they would keep starting up again if clothes were left in there.
But once the door was opened and the clothes were taken out, it'd stop.
As far as I know, these machines don't have this feature. It was empty.
Just started up unexpectedly. Inexplicably.
I often feel the presence of 'others' around me.
I know that sounds odd. Especially to those who don't believe in ghosts.
I don't have any reasons for knowing some things that I know.
I've seen things happen before they happened.
I didn't think they were going to happen.
But when they did, I had no explanation for that. How did I know?
Why do I get that information? How? I don't know.
I just wish I had done something about it at the time.
If I had known it was going to happen, I would have said something.
I feel so guilty for not saying anything at the time.
I had no way of knowing that it was more than a thought.
That it was a warning.
Are these strange things happening because of that?
Because someone is trying to get my attention?

I have to agree with your friend...I know sometimes your voicemail will call you back if you hang up on it.
Being a computer guy as well I know that all those 0's & 1's people talk about are actually interpreted voltage telling our electronics what to do and voltage is analog so it can be "fuzzy" sometimes a 1 can be switched with a 0 and something else happens. if there's a power spike funny things happen....
Anyway, technology is crazy these days - At my house I've installed motion sensing light switches in the rooms that Georgia goes into so that she doesn't have to worry about hitting the light switch (she's still too short) and when she's a teenager and starts leaving the lights on they'll shut themselves off when no one is in the room.
Some other cool things I've seen was at the Target store here in Orleans. It was LEED certified so if you went there on a slow day you could watch all the lights come on in the freezer section in the individual freezers as you walked in. It's all in the name of saving energy :)
Houses and buildings are being retrofitted these days with all sorts of technology which to be honest, seems a little creepy at times.
Definitely a little creepy. We didn't have this stuff when we were kids.
You are right, your voicemail can call you back if you hang up on it,
but I wasn't using the phone at all when I got that call.
Motion detectors are funny to me. We have them where I work (the college)
They remind me of when I was in grouphomes and we used to turn them to face the corner
So that we could move around freely at night without any alarms going off.
Like if we woke up in the middle of the night to use the washroom...
We'd have to wait until the staff got up and saw who was up and what they wanted.
Then they'd wait for us to make sure we went back to bed.
It was like being in jail. No freedom to even go pee without 'permission'
Anyway, that's what motion detectors remind me of.
HeHe Georgia LOVES the motion detectors...The ones in her playroom are "fade on" so she walks into the room and raises her hands and the lights come on as if she's controlling them with her hands - like magic! Ok, I'll admit I do the same thing. Anyway, it's quite the effect and hilarious to watch! Ours are replacements for light switches so you can't really move them where they can't see you.
When I first installed them, my niece, nephew and brother-in-law came to visit shortly after and stayed the night. We put my niece in Georgia's playroom to sleep. Unfortunately, I didn't know how to really turn the motion detectors off so the poor girl had the lights turning on every 20 minutes while she was trying to sleep. We found out the next morning

I'd probably do that too. "Magic!" I wonder what our ancestors would think of us and all our modern technology. I keep thinking that by the time Daniel is my age we'll have even more useful gadgets and they'll be really neat. The way technology is going these days it's just crazy. Just skyrocketing. It's amazing what we have now. I can't imagine what the future will be like.
