The Plan Is...

I'm kind of excited... I published my first poetry book on Saturday and I already had over 100 views! I'm working on my second one... I'm grouping up all my poems into e-books of about 50 poems. I have over 1,500 poems on my poetry blog. Been stashing them there since 2006. I have to find a way to back them all up in case blogger ever crashes. I doubt it will, but I'd hate to lose all my poetry. I'm working from the bottom up and still writing new poems all the time. It's kind of amusing reading things you wrote years ago. I can read some poems and know where I was in my life at the time I wrote it. So now I have to find pictures for and format the poems in volume 2. It's called Marshmallow. I published 'Morning' through a site called Scribd.com. I found it when I was searching through video tutorials on youtube. I watch lots of knitting tutorials and crochet tutorials, but the computer tutorials are pretty good. Sometimes you have to search around a while until you find what you are looking for.

It helps that all my poetry on my blog is already typed for me. It would take a lot longer than a week or two to get an e-book together if that were not the case. The thing is that if each e-book has 50 poems in it, and there are over 1,500 poems, that is 30 volumes. I may not be caught up for a long time! In the dashboard part of blogger, it shows how many pages of posts. I selected it to show me 100 per page. That's still 15 pages... I have 3 or 4 pages of posts of poems I wrote in 2006. This is where I am now. I'm excited that people are reading it. I don't expect to ever be a famous poet.... I'd rather just be a behind the scenes kind of poet. It wasn't my aim when I started writing poetry. It was a self-expression thing. It was and still is more of an outlet than anything.

I wrote a book based on my teen years, but I don't think I could publish it, I might. But I doubt it. It's pretty personal. Because it's all true. Except the names. I changed all the names. If I published at all.... I'd have to publish it under an assumed name. Or even anonymously, if that is even possible. I have a briefcase I have a lot of my writings in. Also binders and binders full of the original poems I wrote. The original copies. I have lost stories and writings along the way, but mostly I try to keep them together. I like going back and reading the stuff I wrote a long time ago. Call it weird, but I like keeping those things.
