Philosophy & Meditation

I had an interesting horoscope today. I don't know if you believe in those sorts of things. I can say that I have a wide range of interests and astrology is one of them.

mine is: You are normally focused on practical logistics because you live in the realm of circumstances and common sense. However, you are growing more concerned with meanings that arise from your own psyche as the Leo New Moon highlights your 8th House of Mystery. This is a great time to practice philosophical inquiry, therapy or meditation. Consider trying different activities that allow you to delve beneath the apparent surface. Expect the unexpected and you won't be disappointed.

Anyway, it's interesting because I've been thinking a lot about circumstances, philosophy, therapy, and meditation. I've been thinking about meditation in terms of it being like mediation between your mind and your spirit. I haven't done a lot of meditation.

I know that at the end of my spiritual journey is enlightenment. This is what spiritual people hope to achieve within their lifetimes. Some can, a lot cannot seem to reach it. It is attainable, just not very easily. I guess that all things that are worth achieving do not come easily and it is the journey on the way there that makes all the difference.

Lately, I get this feeling that tells me that I should be "paying attention" to what's being brought to my attention. Sometimes I feel like there are little 'signs' that I'm seeing/hearing. Like when people bring up a particular subject in a conversation, I feel like it's for a reason.

Today, I had a conversation that brought the subject of psychotherapy to my attention. What is the difference between therapy and psychotherapy? What is the psychology behind psychotherapy? I often find myself asking questions like this.

I have to admit, I'm anxious about the future. Still. Even if I have little or no control over what happens to me... I'm nervous about next year. I read in the papers that the price of food is going to go up 4%. A lot of the food is already expensive and I have to wait for sales.
