It's crazy how the world works. I met a guy a number of years ago. Maybe a few years ago. On the internet. We became friends. It's crazy how people seem to come into your life when you need them. Of all the spiritual guidance I've ever got, it came from him. He's the most insightful person I've known. We usually have long discussions about life and spiritualism.
Tonight we had a long talk about Forgiveness. It's hard for some people to forgive. I guess they think that if they forgive someone for something, the person they are forgiving, doesn't learn from their mistake. Forgiveness isn't exactly there to teach a lesson. To teach people if they deserve it or not. A lot of the time, honestly, they probably don't deserve it. But the price of not forgiving them is holding that grievance with you, carrying it everywhere, along with all the other grievances you. Which not only makes a person weary, but it makes the person a slave to anger and resentment.
Just because you forgive someone doesn't mean you have to give them another chance. It's not something that goes hand in hand. You can forgive a person and also tell them that you do not wish them to be a part of you life.
I've had people ask for my forgiveness. Probably because they realized I didn't deserve to be treated the way they treated me. I forgave those people but said that I will not give them another chance to try to hurt me again. Otherwise it will just continue to be a cycle that never ends. It ends with forgiveness and doesn't have to go any further than that. The only chance after that is the chance to move on to the next thing life has to throw your way, good or bad. Because it'll come your way whether you're ready to move on, or not.
I've been discovering a lot about life and about myself just recently. Because I have the time I need to reflect, but not only that... I have influences in my life that inspire me to make changes. Very important changes. I can't sit here, and just wait for my life to get better. Because it doesn't happen that way. Nothing in life is 'free' you have to work for it, towards it, and then it becomes possible. Just because it is possible doesn't make it so.
There are endless paths of possibilities. All paths lead to other paths. Some paths intersect. Making it hard to choose which path to take when you're at the crossroads in life. I've been there many times. I like to think that I'm on the right path, but I'm always questioning myself.
One thing that I've learned is that it is good to question yourself because the questions that you ask yourself are the questions that only you can answer. Sometimes you might not like the answers to the questions you ask, but the answers are going to be the truth and isn't the truth what you were looking for all along?
