I have been thinking about getting back into writing again. I have a few stories that I'm working on, it seems that I keep starting projects that I can't seem to finish. Anyways... Here are some authors you might know.
Agatha Christie (Miller)
Born on September 15th, 1890 and passed away January 12th, 1976
A British crime writer who also wrote short stories and plays. She wrote romance novels under the name Mary Westmacott. She is remembered for her detective novels (66) and short story collections (14) Her most popular characters are Hercule Poirot or Miss Jane Marple.
The Guinness Book of World Records says Christie is the best-selling novelist of all time. Roughly 4 billion copies of her novels have been sold. Christie is the most translated individual author. (At least 103 languages.)
Arthur C. Clarke
Born on December 16th, 1917 and passed away March 19th 2008
He was not only a British author of science fiction. He was also an inventor, and futurist. Famous for his novels and short stories.
1941 to 1946:
He served as a radar instructor and technician in the Royal Air Force
1945: He proposed a satellite communication system
1947–1950: Chairman of the British Interplanetary Society
Again in 1953
1956: Emigrated to Sri Lanka to pursue his interest in scuba diving.
Also in 1956:
He discovered the underwater ruins of the ancient Koneswaram temple in Trincomalee.
1963: Won the Franklin Institute Stuart Ballantine Gold Medal for his satelite communication system.
1968: He wrote 'A Space Odyssey'
He hosted the British television series: Mysterious World.
1998: He was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II
2005: Awarded Sri Lanka's highest civil honour, Sri Lankabhimanya
