Wondering What's Around The Bend

Well, I'm glad I'm done working for the day, well until I have to go back in tonight. I found out that I'll probably be working on Canada Day, but I get paid time and a half so it would be worth it. And I don't think they can screw me for the 10 hours that will be Sunday, because I'm going to be working Saturday morning. Yeehaw!

One of the guards got canned by the client. I wanted to know why, but nobody knew why. I read the incident reports and came across one he had wrote and I knew that it was because he was rude with the Manager of Human Resources. I'm glad I have the night shift because I don't have to deal with any of the managers. I was warned about her on the very first day of training.

I mean the guy WAS doing his job by asking her to show her photo card at the security desk because all the employees have to show it. Even managers who think they are above and beyond access control. These are the people who whine so much about the policies, but if someone broke into their office because of lack of access control, then the sh*t would hit the fan. As long as none of it lands on me... Because I have to pay to use the washer and drier. And I do not want to get canned. Especially for doing my job. That's why I don't want to enforce the policies until I absolutely have to. So far, I haven't had any problems except one day when I was on training and on of the trainees was giving me attitude. I won't see her again so I won't have to write her up.

Why is it that bus drivers seem to get away with so much? I get on the bus this morning and the driver decided it was the perfect time to stop the bus and go get himself a coffee at the gas station. I don't know what is worse: Waiting for him to get it and start driving or having to smell that coffee all the way to the bus station. Sometimes coffee is nice, like at 3:00 A.M when you are almost falling asleep and an employee brings you a cup and tells you that you are his favorite security guard.

I got to spend time with my favorite supervisor tonight. He came to relieve me for my half an hour lunch break. He is the only guard who will have a smoke with me on my break. Even when he is supposed to be taking over for me. Not only that, but he came back this morning just to let me have another break. He called and he said: "Hello this is P*C*, your security guard check-in system, would you like to go for a smoke?" I thought it was funny. The first time I called P*C* he said the exact words at the exact time the automated voice was saying them. He has it memorized. It's funny because I see his ex-girlfriend come into work all the time. And he's trying to avoid her. He told me about the going away party she wanted to have for him.

Anyway, I sat down the other day and tried to locate all my originals. It seems that I lost half of my collection of poems when I got my computer fixed. I got most of the originals, but there are a lot missing. I know where I can get a hold of most of the missing ones. Hopefully my friend still has them. I'll need them back momentarily to get them typed and printed up so I never lose them again. Man, I hope he has them!

Things are... well going.
I don't know if they are going well or not so well.
I guess it's too early to tell.
But I'll let you know!
