I started a job today! I am on a part time basis for now, which suits me fine. I work again on Tuesday. I am kind of glad to have monday off because I need to clean my own place. It is strange cleaning a stranger's filth, but a job is a job. I am tired... Pretty soon I will have to take the bus so this will be a short little blurb about my new job.
All in all, I think it was a good day. I hope that I get hired on full time. It's not the most glamourous job, but a job is a job and beggars can't be choosers. Yeah, I think it went well. It was close to home, which was convienient, also strange because I will be getting a tour of the neighbourhood in a way that nobody else has.
The boss is a nice guy. When he was telling me what I should be doing, it was mostly common sense so I ended up finishing his sentences. He introduced me to the manager, who is also very nice. The manager was born in the Soviet Union and has only been in Canada for about 8 years. We talked about different cultures and how they were different. He told me about what it was like for him when he first came to Canada, how scary it was to go to school here for the first time. He's a nice guy, and pretty funny, too. We got along pretty well.
My hands stink from wearing the rubber gloves and the smell is making me sick. I am going to have to wash them again before I go. The tips of my fingers are tingling from all the scrubbing. It feels weird to type.
Anyway, I must be going, I shall write again soon.
Take Care!
