Shock Waves

I had really strange dreams last night.
I was at a big building. It was either a school or a hotel, or both.
Often I can't tell where exactly I am. Just get general vibes.

I kept avoiding people in the stairwells.
If I knew someone was coming up or down, I'd exit on whatever floor I was on,
then cross over to another stairwell
and go down the stairs or take a service elevator.

Then there was an incident, but I forget most of the details.
Someone accidentally caught on fire
and everyone thought that I purposely set her on fire
because it was no secret that I didn't like her.

I ended up leaving the place because nobody believed me.
Then I got to another place.
Where there was a girl who was trying to get away from a guy in a boat.
And he kept stalking her in his boat. She called the cops, but they wouldn't come
because they thought she was making her story up.

Then I found a beach with a few people.
There were these creatures that went into the water.
They were like half bear and half wookie.
The sounds they made were interesting. Half roar and half wookie noise.

Anyway, after they left, the water started doing weird stuff.
There were lots of people in the water, it was a big beach.
Huge shock waves started happening and were coming from the water.
I was on the beach and there was no time to run. Had to brace myself for it.
It was pretty intense.
Weird how we can 'feel' things from our dreams while we are having them.
Psycho-somatic dreams.

So today is the first day of a new month. I usually get a certain feeling
like 'oh, a new adventure!' at the beginning of the month.
Also a new season has started so it's kind of a strange feeling.
Or maybe I'm just strange.

The quote for today is:
"Do not seek to follow in the footsteps of others,
Instead seek what they have sought."

Just because someone is seeking something,
doesn't mean I'm seeking the same thing,
and even if they were, they might not know how to get to it.
Maybe they are even on the wrong beach.
Maybe what I'm seeking is my own version of their version.
Like I said, I don't have to want what they want
or even want what they think I should want.

My friend was saying that there's nothing wrong with wanting.
That the wanting itself isn't the issue. It depends what we want.
And it depends on how we act and react when what we want isn't coming
especially in the way that we want it.

Like how that guy was trying to make me feel bad for 'ignoring' him.
When I wasn't even on that chat site.
So he wanted to 'get back at me' by telling me he was glad he 'removed' me.
In reality, he 'removed' himself.

Chances are that what he wants and what I want are very different.
So why would I seek what he has sought? Why would I want to?

Maybe it depends on who is seeking what.
Not just what is being sought. Not only that.
The greatest minds of our century and the century before,
were seeking something. Sought it, found it. What was it? How did they find it?
Maybe it doesn't matter how they found it.
Everyone who finds what they are looking for finds it in the least likely places.
Sometimes the most obvious places are the least likely.
We all have our own ways of getting to where we want and/or need to be.
