Think Twice

Last year, I didn't have a job.
I was applying all over the place.
Nothing turned up.
I joined a site called care.com
It allows you to create a profile
and people who are looking for cleaners can contact you.
So I thought, why not give it a shot?

A guy contacted me on there.
Wanted me to go to his place for 4 hours of cleaning.
Almost went. But changed my mind.
I don't have a cell so I gave him my boyfriend's number to text me.

We were at work when he texted and was asking my rate
Wanted me to come over the next day.
Well first, he wanted me to come over that day,
but it wasn't enough notice and we had to work.

So when I got back to him with the rate and availability,
he texted "perfect" "*his address*" and "I'm waiting for you."
The "I'm waiting for you." It gave me chills and creeped me out.
So I told him something came up and I couldn't work for him.
I also had his full name so I looked him up on facebook.
Sure enough, he was on there and there were a couple creepy pictures.
One was of him with a scary expression. One was just of a knife.
The rest of the pictures seemed regular, ordinary.

In any normal circumstances,
hiring someone and bringing them into your home...
You want to meet the person first. This guy just wanted me to come over.
No interview, hardly even spoke on the phone.
Just here is the address, come over.
The "I'm waiting for you" was a red flag to me because
it seemed like he was up to something. Ready for something.
"I will be waiting for you." Sounds a bit better, but not by much.

I have been too trusting in the past. Sometimes to my detriment.
I am lucky not much bad has happened in those situations.
Sometimes bad things happen, but I have been damn lucky.
I don't know how I am still alive sometimes. I've done crazy things.
People really need to start thinking twice about some things.

Another thing that creeped me out is that a body turned up of a woman
In the river about a 4 minute drive from his address.
I'm not saying that he was involved, it could have been anyone.
Just not a coincidence that looks very good.

I think the victim was a prostitute since it was near the red light district.
And prostitutes usually don't have as many issues
going with people they don't know.

BUT I think that it could have been someone from Quebec.
Because the location where the body was found is close to the border.
Close to a bridge that goes straight into Quebec.
And dumping a body in another district is something that does happen.
If it turns out that the "I'm waiting for you" dude had anything to do with it,
that would be even creepier and scarier.
We have to be careful not to be TOO trusting.
Think twice!
