We can't ever fully trust someone else.
Because we can only rely on them
to do what they consider to be in
their own self-interest.
We can only trust others to the exact degree that
we can trust ourselves...
Our ability to see through their lies and self-deception
Is in direct proportion to our
own ability
to tell ourselves the truth about our lives.
We are all controlled by selfishness.
But
that shallow people think their interests
are served by lying,
stealing, cheating others.
Sociopaths think that everyone is that way,
and just pretending not to be for the sake of a mask to wear.
The deeper we go on our search for our true Self, the more this
changes.
We deal with people not just for the moment,
but as we wanted to
keep dealing with them all our life.
As we grow up, you begin to grasp that we need real friends,
and the only way to recreate deep, loving
connections is to open our
hearts.
As we dig deeper, we start to see that the divinity within yourself
is the same as that in other people. "Num" or "Namaste."
(The divinity within me recognizes and acknowledges the divinity
within you.)
The
only motivation for behaviour that survives the actual stress of
life
are the small sacrifice of
energy or resources we give of ourselves.
Because living according to our deepest values
is
the only way to 'feel right' within our own skin.
The only way we can expect this world to work is to realize
that it's crazy to expect it
to work better than we do, on a daily basis.
When people learn to cherish the fruits
other than the fruits of long-term selfishness,
they find their power
to have peace and satisfaction.
We are all selfish to varying degrees,
but we don't have to live our lives selfishly.
