Reuniting

I know it's been a while since I last posted on here. I'm impressed that this blog of mine has lasted over 6 years! Anyway, not a lot has been going on over here. No surprise there!

Well, maybe a few things... Today I saw a guy I went to college with. Many years ago. He's a cop now. I remember the first time I saw him in his uniform... I was walking home after dropping my son off at school and I heard a cop calling my name. My first reaction was: "I didn't do anything!" I thought I was in trouble or something. I look over and there was S**** in his cruiser. I was like: "I know you from school!" I still remember the college graduation party. There were 3 couples and I was the odd one out. All 3 guys had given their girlfriends a rose and I felt kinda left out because I didn't have a date. Even though I had a boyfriend at the time (who was much older than me and who would have been too embarrassed to go to my grad, like he was with my high school grad). So S**** kinda felt sorry for me and he poured me a drink. He's always been a sweet heart. Probably why he is married now. Haha! He had a feeling I had a crush on him and he told me he has a girlfriend. I just smiled and said, "I'm kinda flattered that you think I have a crush on you, but I have a boyfriend AND a kid." My son was only 8 months old when I started college. Things between my ex and I were rocky back then. I wanted to get married and he didn't... Obviously we didn't get married. I'm happy being single now because it means more freedom. Loneliness, yes, but more freedom. I don't have anyone to tell where I'm going, who is going to be there, when I'm coming back. I used to ask my ex if I could go out. Actually ask for permission pretty much. Like a kid asking a parent for permission to go out. I asked because he never liked when I went out. I got invited to a party and I didn't go because he kept saying that the only reason why the guy asked me to go to the party was to try to get into my pants... Tauruses are notoriously jealous and stubborn (which is a pain in the ass combination).

Anyway, the only things going on lately are the construction in and around the building I live in. They are installing central air conditioning units in each apartment. Apparently it is going to be a 4 day process. This is the second day so half way there! I'll be sad to see some of the construction guys go, though. Loneliness does that to a girl. Even though I still hang out with the last guy I dated, and I know he wants me back. I just lost all those feelings. Even intimacy is an issue for me. (That's a whole story unto itself and I'm not going to go there!) I just can't see myself having those feelings again. They are only feelings after all. Right?

Apart from that, I have been kinda busy making things. I have a bunch of orders to fill. There's a lady at work who has been ordering stuff off me. First it was a couple hats for her daughters. Done. Then she wants a couple scarves to go with the hats (haven't started those yet). Then she wanted me to make a hat for her husband, almost done that one. Then there is another guy at work who wants a hat with a brim (started it, but gotta start over). Then she asked me to make a cushion for her mother, for her mother's birthday. I'm working on that and running out of time to make that as I type. Also been working on some other projects. I want to start selling some stuff on etsy.com eventually. The cushion I'm making is a new pattern for me. There is a guy on youtube who has all kinds of tutorials. I love all those crochet and knitting tutorials on youtube! Where would I be without those? Also, there is a lady I want to make something for as a gift. I'm running out of time to make that too. There are a few gifts I have to make...

A few weeks ago, I went to a nursery and bought 3 rose bushes to be planted at my Grandmother's retirement home. They have since been planted. I like watching flowers grow. My Grandmother was so happy. She went around the place telling all the little old ladies about the rose bushes in the garden and where they came from. It was pretty exciting. I was saving for a long time for those. Months and months. At first I was going to do a fund raiser, because I wanted to get a lot of flowers and other things for the garden, but I think the roses were a good investment, for now. Maybe one day I can do something bigger.

My kid is getting older and bigger now. He really hates it when I try to kiss him or hug him. I took him to the fair and I tried to give him a kiss on the cheek and he swatted me. That fair is pretty expensive. 20 dollars for 30 tickets and most of the rides cost 5 tickets each person. So I got to go on 3 rides with him and he went on a ride on his own. I even had to buy an extra ticket. Then he bought his cotton candy with his allowance. Then we went over to West Fest. It has been an annual event for 10 years, but it was my first time going there. I was a really hot day. He wanted to enter a raffle so I bought him raffle tickets and then he got his face painted. Then we went home and played lego. (I still like lego). There's an official lego website/shop. I like their mini figures. They probably make a lot of money off those.

I've bought a few things off ebay. Some of them I'm planning on reselling. I hope to resell them. I got them for under $5 each and can make up to $15 on each. I could make my money back, plus another $10. I found a few things I want to get as gifts. My ex is into collecting straight razors. Collecting shaving supplies is like a hobby to him. I found a really nice one I'm planning on getting for him for Father's Day. I was looking at Ozzy Osbourne stuff on ebay, also. For my step-father. He collects Ozzy stuff, Mickey Mouse stuff, and Coca Cola stuff. I have my own collections. I collect WOOL (lots of it), jackets, and books. I don't know why I collect jackets, but I have a collection of them. Wool, well I do use it. Eventually. It's always good to have a stash of it instead of having to go to the store every time I want to make something. My stash is taking over a corner of my living room and it's taking over the desk and dresser tops in my bedroom. It's growing wild!

I guess that's all for now... Can't think of much else to write about at the moment. I might think of something else soon though. But I already rambled a lot.
