On the way home from work I read the headlines of the free newspaper we get here in Ottawa. Yesterday, a man was killed not far from where I live. I'm mentioning it because it was close to my neighborhood. People are saying it was gang related. The guy who was killed went to jail for stabbing someone in 2008. Maybe the guy he stabbed shot him. Or maybe the guy he stabbed was in a gang and a gang member shot him. People don't like it when you try to kill them. Just an observation. Instead of attempted murder, he was charged with aggravated assault. He still went to jail for it. The victim of this homicide is the same age as my brother. I don't think my brother knows him, though.
I still think of the fire that happened here last year. In November. I remember it was the end of November. I had thought everyone had made it out okay. The fire happened on the first floor, near an exit. It wasn't until the next day that someone told me that someone had been killed in that fire.
Is it just me or is Ottawa a little crazy? Well, I'd say it is tame compared to a bigger city like Toronto or even New York. Big cities scare me. I remember the first time I ever went to Toronto. I was expecting something the size of Ottawa. I saw a big city about 5 times bigger. What I hate about big cities is that people are rude, the cities themselves are dirty, also it is much easier to get lost.
I don't know wtf they are doing in the parking lot behind the building I live in, but every time I look out the windows, it looks much worse than it had. It started off as just drilling holes. That went on for weeks. Then there was a big flood in the parking lot and they had pumps trying to get rid of all the water. Now they have it all torn up. Make up your mind! Decide what you're going to do to/with it. Then do it as quickly as possible! I'm just sick of looking out there and seeing a worse mess than last time I checked.
Anyway, I'll write more later, but for now I must go to sleep. I worked last night and only got 4 hours of sleep before work....
