Just Another Look

I like to switch it up from time to time.
Using some of my pictures for the background.

The last one I had was at the beach.
This one is in "Little Italy."
I'm going to be taking some new ones this year.

Anyway, maybe I'll experiment more.
The CSS is now something I can actually do.
(Not that it matters).

Been doing some digging into Canada's past.
Although we've come a long way,
all the underhanded sh*t from so long ago.
No excuses for that.
What would it have been like if it were the other way around?

The government is still doing the same crap.
Scandal after scandal.
Bribery, kickbacks, all of that, and more.
It's all very sickening.

Even recent events...
But, if I'm to tell it right,
I have to tell it from the beginning.

Starting from Confederation.
A lot happened before the confederation...

The Pacific railway was built instead of a wagon trail
across the country to connect BC to Eastern Canada.
But the corporation that owned one of the companies
that wanted the contract to build the train line
secretly gave the government money
to secure the contract.

And this was under the first Prime Minister of Canada.
Because the guy he was getting money from
kept the letters between him and the Prime Minister
about the contact, but gave the letters to his lawyer to keep safe.

While he was out of the country, going to England to get money
for the railway line, the lawyers assistant stole the letters
and sold them to the Liberals exposing everything.
Then McDonald had to resign as Prime Minister.

Somehow he ended back as Prime Minister for 18 years.

And during this time, there was the slaughtering of the buffalo.
I'm not sure if it was as prevalent here as in the U.S,
but it also happened here.

This was a way of getting Indigenous peoples into reserves.
Then the residential schools were also while McDonald was Prime Minister.

So would Canadian history been different
had McDonald not gotten back into leadership?
Probably.

But look how Canada is being run today?
You don't think secret payments have been
going around behind the scenes?

The money being paid out for certain things.
Like the gun registry was one.
From what I was reading,
the gun registry started after a massacre
and the Prime Minister wanted to know what weapons were used
even though him getting the info
would jeopardize the investigation.

Anyway, he ended up adding those specific weapons on a ban list.
The thing is that if someone really wanted to get a gun, they could.

Well, the weapons and drugs,
that stuff doesn't get brought through customs.

And none of that is ever going to get registered
with the government nonetheless.

The ones who registered were all law-abiding citizens.
How it was run and how much money it cost
was what the thing was, I guess.

There's been a bunch of stuff going down.
Probably a lot we don't know about, yet.

The little bits that trickle out from time to time.
A lot of videos of the house of commons tick me off
because it's as though Trudeau doesn't address
the points being made to him.

It's easier to do the smoke and mirrors act
than to ever admit anything that shouldn't be done.

When being confronted about our economics
he wanted to bring up the wildfires
that has nothing to do with our economics.

The taxes and inflation have f*cked us up.
He hasn't reduced the cost of living, it increased
pretty substantially in the last 10 years.

like everything has gone up.
Food prices, rent, electricity, gas, etc.

And you can't tell me there's no hidden deals
going on to raise all of that.

With the big names in the businesses.
Even electricity was privatized.
The government literally sold it.

So what did that deal entail?
What's happened since?

It costs money to heat a home with electric heat.
In the winter
And air conditioning in the summer.

But all electricity use...

Since it got privatized, the cost went up.
But WHY would the government privatize the hydro company?
There had to have been a reason because that's what they did.

A bunch of things add up over time
about how money went into this or that,
and a lot of things we didn't need.

But when it comes to things that we do need,
money isn't being put towards that.
Or not enough.

On the other side of the fence, there have been cuts to stuff.

It hasn't seemed to balance out, yet.
One party spending too much in the wrong direction.

If it were a fair democracy,
we'd be able to vote on what the government does
with the money, we contribute to the government through taxes.

Even the GST.
We're taxed on taxed money.

But all the taxes paid to the government each year.
Land taxes, even.

Those go to pay for all kinds of things.
But there should be certain budgets for certain things.
And the government is doing inquests
into some deals about an app that was being developed or something.

I don't know enough about it to comment about it, yet.
All I know is that the RCMP is investigating.
And that a raid has been done.

So I just keep having questions upon questions.

But another thing that was scandalous,
that I haven't heard being brought up, yet

was that there was a number to call to get covid benefits
and a lot of people who didn't qualify, ended up getting money
that they weren't qualified for because the system wasn't set up right.
People saw it as a loophole and took advantage of it. Repeatedly.

That might be investigated, eventually.
But I haven't heard it being talked about, publicly, yet.

I've been looking at railway stuff all night.
And I've lost my train of thought.
