Buried Forever

The van that fell into the sink hole downtown is now encased in cement.
They said they couldn't find it. So they left it and started filling the hole in.
It belonged to a locksmith company and was full of tools and equipment.
This is why we have insurance policies. In case streets devour vehicles.
Just lucky that a bus wasn't going over that spot when it started to cave.
There are reports that a bus had gone over it minutes before it caved.
Better an unoccupied minivan than a bus full of people. Geez.

The last bus accident I can remember was when the bus hit the train.
Or the train hit the bus. Either way, they collided.
Via rail wanted to sue O.C Transpo or the driver's estate.
Something like that. Both of them were at fault.
The bus could have stopped, but trains have breaks, too.
The train was probably going too fast to stop.
The animation showed that the bus crossed the guard rails.

Anyway, this accident was the deadliest bus crash in Ottawa history.
Accidents do happen and we never are prepared for them.
All we can do is be careful. But even being careful isn't enough
to prevent something from happening.

It also goes to show that life can end very suddenly.
We never know when or how. It just happens.
So we should live our lives to their fullest while we can.
And take each opportunity to tell our loved ones
how much they mean to us.
